Democrats are in dismay and disarray

is that a delusion?......who is running against Trump?......

You really don't think that there is a civil war within your party? That because no one is running against Trump anymore, everything is hunky dory?

I'm glad you posted this. It's your new "Romney will take MI." I'll remind you that you said this in the coming months, as the rifts between the establishment Republicans, true conservatives and the Trump faction continue to grow and get more pronounced.

Not a fan of the article. To each his own as to who they support but please don't try and tell me Trump is conservative. That's just insulting.

And Trump would cut a better tax deal than Ryan? Let's go look at Ryan's 2011 budget and the incredible work he did vs. anything Trump has done in this area. Ryan's budget is close to the ultimate fiscally conservative blueprint as you can get. Trump has done nothing but give us a plan and then say his plan can be negotiated. He has no set principles on taxes.

You mean Ryan's budget this funded executive amnesty? Yup, real conservative.

I don't think Trump is a conservative but Ryan is a sham.

This is going to be the most enjoyable presidential election of my lifetime. I don't support any of the remaining candidates and I will write in a candidate

His 2011 budget had freezes in non-discretionary spending, repealed Frank-Dodd, worked to eliminate Freddy and Fannie, converted Medicare into block spending grants (we remember the Democrats ad of Republicans pushing Granny off the cliff), and included tax reform.

Doesn't get much more conservative than that.

Yeah well we aren't operating under a 2011 budget. Hey if you think he is a conservative, then good on ya

Yes, you do say that a lot. I don't believe things are as bad as you.

Cities as disparate as New London and Dallas can steal private property to make room for strip malls (i.e. not hospitals and roads). I'd say a huge chunk of our republic has certainly been lost.

Incredible? Are you insane? Ryan's idea, would result in Kansas and Louisianna on a national scale. I can think of no more economicly catastrophic, politically destabilizing fiscal policies than Ryan's Randian supply side fantasies. I far more trust Trump with economic policies then the GOPEstablishments mindless "what's good for the mega wealthy is what's good for everyone." Philosophy.

You want to end free markets in our nation put Ryan in charge of the economy.

Thank you for making my point for me.

I think conservatives have to accept there is a nationalist wing of the party now. Where people like me are :)

Probably a topic for its own thread, but I noticed the term 'nationalist' gets thrown around a lot lately. Mainly as the latest pejorative for Trump supporters.

What's it mean to be a nationalist? Does it mean advocating secure borders and enforcement of existing immigration statutes? I'm a proud nationalist. Does it mean advocating against yielding this country's sovereignty to a global governing body or global interests? I'll check that box. Does it mean negotiating treaties with this country's economic and National security interests being the sole considerations? If so, I'm a nationalist.

Guess what? There's many millions of us in this country, we vote, and Trump is whistling the right tune.

And if anyone isn't a 'nationalist' by the above standards, what the frick are they?

Smart enough to realize that Trump won't be able to keep his promises, which seem to change a lot, anyway, lol.
