Hillary & Iraq

Now, now, now - no moving goalposts. My opinion was that there was never a credible threat. NIE's leading up to the war agree with me.

Where am I apologizing for Dems? I won't vote for the ones who voted for the war. I don't agree w/ their quotes calling for using our military. Saying that none called for full-scale invasion is 100% accurate, unless you can find me a quote that differs from that.

I don't think you understand what "apologizing" means. Regardless, I was right about Iraq; you were wrong. And it's Bush's war.

You must have a higher clearance than the rest of us to be familiar with the NIE's leading up to the war.....care to share them ?

Not some left wingers interpretation of them.

What you want to deny is that the decision to invade was made and Congress was aware of that plan before they voted.....

but do point out what in any NIE's you're familiar with, what you agree with and disagreed with....we are all interested....

LOL

I don't have to go searching all over the place. You tell me: was Iraq a threat to the homeland in 2003? Yes or no.

Just a yes or no on that, bravs.

Including Hillary. I thought she was too smart to fall for that BS about imminent threat.

Now pipe down. :D

Too smart ?.....Her husband was harping about Iraq being a threat all through the '90's.....

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
-- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"People can quarrel with whether we should have more troops in Afghanistan or internationalize Iraq or whatever, but it is incontestable that on the day I left office, there were unaccounted for stocks of biological and chemical weapons."
-- Ex President Bill Clinton, Jul. 22, 2003 (Interview with CNN Larry King)

"Every nation has to either be with us, or against us. Those who harbor terrorists, or who finance them, are going to pay a price."

Senator Hillary Clinton (Democrat, New York)
During an interview on CBS Evening News with Dan Rather
September 13, 2001

This is a very difficult vote, this is probably the hardest decision I've ever had to make. Any vote that might lead to war should be hard, but I cast it with conviction."

Senator Hillary Clinton (Democrat, New York)
Addressing the US Senate
October 10, 2002

"In the next century, the community of nations may see more and more the very kind of threat Iraq poses now -- a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction ready to use them or provide them to terrorists, drug traffickers or organized criminals who travel the world among us unnoticed.

If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity, even in the face of a clear message from the United Nations Security Council and clear evidence of a weapons of mass destruction program."

President Clinton
Address to Joint Chiefs of Staff and Pentagon staff
February 17, 1998

We will also stand united behind our President as he and his advisors plan the necessary actions to demonstrate America's resolve and commitment. Not only to seek out an exact punishment on the perpetrators, but to make very clear that not only those who harbor terrorists, but those who in any way aid or comfort them whatsoever will now face the wrath of our country. And I hope that that message has gotten through to everywhere it needs to be heard. You are either with America in our time of need or you are not.

We also stand united behind our resolve -- as this resolution so clearly states -- to recover and rebuild in the aftermath of these tragic acts. You know, New York was not an accidental choice for these madmen, these terrorists, these instruments of evil."

Senator Hillary Clinton (Democrat, New York)
Addressing the US Senate
September 12, 2001

How is that a lie? I won't vote for anyone who voted for that war. TODAY. At the time, Kerry was against the guy who started the war. I was definitely a lesser of 2 evils guys then.

You voted for someone that had voted for the war after saying you wouldn't. Does that mean you were OK with the war when you voted for him?

YOU LIED.

I always love this.

I'm the only one who is honest about history. You only see it through your koolaid goggles.

YOU LIED about not voting for someone that supported the war. Kerry voted yes and you voted for Kerry.

LOL

Says who? Another hack, just projecting their hackishness.

Like I said - let me know when you or CFM start a thread like this about someone on the right. Hacks.

Let me know when you learn what the word LIE means. You do it.

bush tried his best to tie Iraq to the 9/11 attack and way too many suckers believed him.

Many who say they opposed the war and said they wouldn't vote for someone that supported the war likes to lie about it. Ask Thingy. He voted for Kerry AFTER Kerry voted yes for the Iraq Resolution despite saying he wouldn't vote for anyone that supported the war.

Votes on Iraq?

If she voted for anything warlike, I was and still am against it. Like drones or Libya.

Hillary voted yes for the Iraq Resolution. Does that mean you'll no longer support Hillary or are you going to be a liar like Thing 1 saying you won't but still doing so. He did that with Kerry.

You voted for someone that had voted for the war after saying you wouldn't. Does that mean you were OK with the war when you voted for him?

YOU LIED.

Sorry - no lie. That's how I feel in 2016. It wasn't how I felt in 2004 - especially when Kerry was running against the imbecile who actually started the war.

Like I said: you don't understand the language.

I don't hear Democrats saying that now. Most say they were "mislead," but I haven't heard any of them say they didn't believe there was a clear & present danger at the time.

I don't see how it's relevant. I don't support them now, or try to "defend" their words. The only distinction between them & Bush is that Bush actually started that stupid war, which is something I hold him directly accountable for.

I'm trying to help you with the language, CFM. See the bolded? I'm commenting on how Democrats are saying they were misled.

YOU are saying that I said they were misled. See the difference?
