Hillary & Iraq

Bush's biggest apologist always shows up in the Iraq threads.

I see no sense in even responding to you....you can't even separate the 'war' from the 'occupation'.....

If you've got something to add to the thread, other than personal attacks against the posters, spit it out.....

I don't apologize for anyone, not Bush, not Hillary, and not even Bill Clinton....I prefer to believe they all acted in good faith with what they believed at the time.....

And that was obviously that Saddam had WMD and as BC and his admin. stated over and over, he constituted a danger to the US.....

The bolded is an incorrect statement. All you do is apologize for Bush. That's your role.

You are the ultimate Bush apologist. So, for you to state "I don't apologize for anyone" is simply false.

Iraq War cheerleaders make me sick to my stomach. They couldn't possibly have been proven more wrong by history at this point. The GOP frontrunner who they're voting for even calls it one of our worst blunders.

And yet they still stick to their story. Sorry, hawks - you were all as wrong as you could be. And a lot of people died. And that's on you.

Democrat apologists like you claiming that what Democrat leaders said needed to be done then saying it was wrong when someone actually did what they said are the most despicable. Their own say it needed to be done then when it is, blame the one that does it.

So you're a mind reader?

You make excuses for Democrats who believed the same thing should be done then try to convince others it's different.

Guess you didn't read the OP.

Hillary Clinton voted for the Iraq resolution. Why is that forgiven by her supporters? Has there been a more definitive issue in our time on what it means to be progressive in terms of foreign policy?

Every Dem who voted yay on that measure took the easy way out. It really speaks to the character of all of them. I'm tired of hearing "we made the best decision with the intel we believed at the time." And that goes for every pundit & politician on the right who either instigated the conflict or cheered it on from the sidelines.

It was NOT the best decision. There was never a clear & present danger to our homeland - never even a credible threat. The people responsible need to be held accountable.

If thats your view, you need to limit yourself to the ranting and raving by Bill Clinton and the Democrats for convincing the American people that Saddam DID have wmd and
he WAS a credible threat to the US.....
He planted the seeds.

He planted the seeds.

Plenty of quotes to read by Democrats in Congress and members of the Clinton administration saying exactly that and doing so BEFORE Bush was President.

Guess you haven't read the quotes made by Democrats saying what we did to Iraq needed to be done and did so BEFORE Bush was President.

I have. None called for invasion.

But that's beside the point. How can I be a Dem apologist if I'm not a Democrat, and I won't vote for any Democrat who voted for that resolution?

Riddle me that, rightie hack.

Here is my favorite NOVA stuff. Bush was just an innocent bystander! He had no choice! Clinton and congressional Dems forced his hand!

History is such an inconvenient thing for you guys.

You don't have to be a Democrat to be an apologist for them.

Seems I was correct. You didn't read the quotes they made. Plenty said that Saddam and Iraq was a threat that needed to be dealt with including air and missile strikes. You said there was never a clear and present danger to our homeland - never even a credible threat. The quotes from Democrats including Madelain Albright, John Kerry, and Bill Clinton himself, said there were.

Clinton and congressional Democrats said the same things Bush did. You call one a liar and make excuses for the others.

Now, now, now - no moving goalposts. My opinion was that there was never a credible threat. NIE's leading up to the war agree with me.

Where am I apologizing for Dems? I won't vote for the ones who voted for the war. I don't agree w/ their quotes calling for using our military. Saying that none called for full-scale invasion is 100% accurate, unless you can find me a quote that differs from that.

I don't think you understand what "apologizing" means. Regardless, I was right about Iraq; you were wrong. And it's Bush's war.

I started the OP. Have you read it? Am I making excuses for Hillary?

I don't think you understand what 'apologizing' means, nor do I think you understand what it means to 'make excuses.' Maybe you could use a primer on the language?

Said you were a Democrat apologist. Didn't say you were a Democrat. You simply apologize for them.

I fully understand what it means. It's you that refuses to admit it's what you do on behalf of the Democrats.

Did you vote for Bill Clinton or John Kerry when he ran?

The bolded is classic Democrat apologism.

LOL

No - you have no idea what it means. I voted for both Bill Clinton & John Kerry.

Did you vote Republican in those elections? I guess using your logic, that makes you a GOP apologist. I mean, you ARE one, but not for that reason.

You said there was never a clear and present danger to our homeland - never even a credible threat. That's what the Democrats say now yet opposite of what they said 18 years ago.
