Voter Registration Surge in California

Jesus lord dude. Do you know how to do math? You're talking in excess of 10 million people. Not only is deporting impractical if not impossible the humanitarian crises it would precipitate would be staggering. I'm not just talking the dislocation either. Mass deportation would also mean a significant loss of life for those deported.

Do you think these people live in a bubble? Most illegals here have extended family who are legal. Do you think they're going to just sit by and permit such an unconscionable humanitarian crises? Mass deportation may sound like a good idea on paper to some redneck xenophobe who lives where it's mostly white but do you honestly think that most decent, moral people in this nation would permit it?? You're deluding yourself.

Deportation should be interpreted at "Trump hates Mexicans" as the consequences of such a policy would be inhumane and horrific.

So why shouldn't Trumps political opponents take advantage of what is so obviously a very, very, very bad idea?

Why is it impossible?

Yea....then explain to me why the vast overwhelming majority of legal immigrants despise him too. My wife is a legal immigrant. This will be her first POTUS election. She thinks Trump is a NAZI. So does ALL, not most, of her family. I know quite a few immigrants, virtually all of them are legal. To a person they despise Trump. How do you reconcile that?

When did you speak to ALL THOSE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS?

Is Thing ! now going to chastise you for making such a "sweeping generalization"??

I don't know of any large groups HRC has alienated, except those who were never going to vote for her anyway.

So you don't consider blue collar workers and/or the Unions as "large groups"??
And let's not forget their family's, friends, and so forth. :D

LOL That's funny. Show me where that rising income for all has occurred?

That is the primary reason we're seeing so much anger and hostility in this election cycle. We have gone through a 30 year period of extraordinary economic growth but it sure as hell didn't result in rising income for all. It resulted in spectacular rises in income for a very few. Then we had a world wide economic meltdown in 2008 due to greed and fraud that cost millions of peoples their homes and livelihood and the people who were responsible were not only not held accountable, their victims had to pay to bail their asses out. Then when the economy recovered virtually all the economic gains have gone to a handful of people and not to those who actually produced that wealth. It's mostly gone to people who do trick with money. Middlemen.

So spare me this faux "rising income for all"nonsense and show me where that has actually ever happened in the last 30 years.
no kidding. I know the history, and I know the post 2008 gains. anyone paying attention would also.
It's a "rigged economy" as sanders correctly says.. all true.

But that doesn't mean we need to accept 2% GDP growth either. Nor do we need to tie us into TPP type trade agreements.
There is more to a successful economy then simply raising minimum wages to $15/hr.

Basically sanders has the right ideas. Clinton grifts along for the ride while still not disclosing her wall st speeches.

Then there is manufacturing, outsourcing, insourcing all part of the topics

Personality wise, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump cant possibly be more different. I don't see many Sanders voters supporting Trump, they may vote 3rd party or not vote, but the vast majority wont vote Trump.
I like the idea of an outsider, and a businessman is good too. The problem is Trump is just not a serious guy.
He would have to show some real chops before I took his seriously ( disclosure I support sanders -but not Hillary)

I've been mystified by that myself. Union and blue collar [healthcare drones like myself are essentially blue collar] workers are treated like they don't exist by the democrats.

That's Democratic identity politics at work..always looking to marginalize blue collar ( so called Reagan Democrats) in favor of the latest minority -
even if the minority are women, which are a majority!

It gets old. But it's politcally effective if you act like you are working to empower someone.

For myself I reject all of that nonsense - including the idjits who bash southern white people - like me being a white guy in Florida
MUST mean I'm a "racist"
The campaigns that call out the best of us as E Pluribus Unum get my support. Enough of the divide and conquer by both sides.

She has over 50% unfavorable ratings among men and women. Hell, Caitalyn Jenner isn't even supporting her so it's not like she has a monopoly on the transgender vote either.

Exactly, on the last part. And the bit about bashing southern whites is a politically correct form of racism the left has gotten away with for too long.

The left's divide and conquer modus operandi has been very effective. So far, anyway. What's dangerous about Trump [for them] is that he's not really a conservative; so he has the potential to remake the Republican Party in a way that it could give the far-left Democrat party trouble for years to come.

That's the subtext in this: the Democrat party has veered so far to the left that they've abandoned what used to be their base.

The Clinton's don't have sexist background lol? How many women did they destroy during Bills two terms?

And yes, Trump will absolutely go there. John McCain he ain't.

And you don't think she knows its coming? lol, I don't think you realize how often Hillary has been down this road, paying for her husband's sins.

I have a very hard time attacking Hillary because her husband had affairs. I don't think many people are going to go for that. I agree with you that Trump will try to go for that.

Especially, when Trump was cheating on his wives! Not a good thing to bring up.

This is an honest question, remaking the Republican Party how? I mean to me it looks like he wants to make it white voters only. That isn't helping the Party going forward. In a sense he already has remade the party in that it's no longer the party of Reagan. That time has now passed.

Global economists say it is the new normal. India and China, plus all the other nations gaining speed in economic matters, we are lucky to see that from what I have read.

Man, do you live under a rock? Republicans have been union busting for the last 30 years, it has been the Democratic Party who has supported the unions. You make me laugh with all your nonsense talk.

Good point, Trump is going to win by attacking Hillary for something Bill Clinton did? Something Trump himself has done with at least his first two wives?

The party of Reagan had non-whites in it?

I'm sure Trump would love for Hillary during a debate to bring up that Trump cheated on his wives.
