Florida Sen. Marco Rubio suspended his Republican presidential campaign Tuesday night after he was projected to lose the primary in his home state to Donald Trump.

He made the announcement to disappointed supporters at a rally in Miami, ending a campaign that began with great promise and recently had picked up support from a wide range of Republican lawmakers. But Rubio trailed in the delegate count, having won only three contests so far.

“It is clear that while we are on the right side this year, we will not be on the winning side,” Rubio told supporters in Miami, adding: “My campaign is suspended.”

By repeating that he convinces people with attention deficit that he's "winning" now. Four bankruptcies, illegal immigrant hiring, "winner".... Stupid plurality voting. There should be runoffs until somebody gets 50.1% or more.
 
Rubio will forever regret his gang of eight participation. I will continue to believe he was set up by the democrat party on the issue

If it weren't for the gang of eight, he would be cruising to the nomination

Honestly, the Trump appearance changed the whole make-up of this campaign. Without him, Cruz and Kasich would never have become part of the final three. He still would have stomped on "Little Marco's" skull, even without the Gang of Eight. In fact, if Cruz pulls this off, he'll have Trump to thank for shaking everything up, and getting Rubio, Jeb, Walker, Christie, Carson, etc., out of the race the way he did. I believe you predicted something of this nature months ago.

Actually, what you just said is true. Had it not been for Trump, Jeb Bush would be the nominee right now. He would have outspent everyone and most would have dropped out. Most would have just timidly gone along with the GOP establishment narrative and would have let Jeb have his way.

Trump gave EVERYONE a set of balls. Cruz (if he pulls it off as you suggest he might) wouldn't have gotten this far without the nice pair of Trumpian balls.

That's a distinct possibility. It hurt him, for sure, especially after Trump entered the race.

No one wanted another Bush, so the remaining candidates would probably have been Rubio, Walker, Cruz and Kasich, although Bush would have lasted much longer. He probably would have pulled-out after losing Florida to Rubio.
 
This fool actually had the arrogance to announce that ' it was not god's plan ' that he should win.
You know what they call states wherein the leader is in personal contact with god ? Theocracies. Count yourself lucky- and stay alert .

I may have predicted it. Can't remember. Maybe Deshtard or GayRod will go grave dig for us?

It has been fun to watch how little control the establishment has had over events this campaign cycle.

Something about Kasich really bothers me and it isn't jus the fact that he is palatable to Mott (although that is part of it)

This is going to be an interesting general election. Will people eventually coalesce around the eventual republican nominee to defeat Shrillary?

I thought about what could make me pull the love for Trump if he gets the nomination and voting against Shrillary won't be enough because voting against Obama wasn't enough to make me vote for Romney. But if Trump came out and seriously said he would put someone like Ted Cruz on the Supreme Court, I would vote for Trump in a heart beat.

I think Cruz would be better on the Supreme Court
