Black Kansas gunman kills as many as four people and injures up to 20

Of course it matters. The manufacturer knowingly produced a specifically deadly weapon and made it available to him. The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act is appalling legislation.

Yea, manufacturers do that all the time. They produce things for people to use. You know, like guns, ball bats, swords, arsenic, strychnine, etc. Their products are then bought and used by people. Sometimes they are bad people. Still not the manufacturers fault. If the gun had exploded in someone's face when they fired it because of a flaw in the breech design ... that's when the manufacturer could and perhaps would be at fault and thus liable for damages.

Just tell everybody what you know about it, particularly how you know that it was produced without patent violation.
I know enough to build one from a garden shovel at Home Depot, so what it would take many hours to illuminate your ignorant mind about AK type firearms. But as far as it being a patent violation...no. It's public domain. Has been since the 70s. Even if milled AK pattern firearms weren't public domain, there are still enough design changes to qualify them as different.

Ah, bluster and guesswork. You don't know any more about the weapon and its manufacturer than I do.

So, in more general terms- each of these appalling events should be followed up by an announcement of the details of the weapon(s), the manufacturer and the vendor. Then pressure can be applied to assign culpability as part of a campaign to overturn the Act,

You're refusal to accept my answer does not make it any less true. What else would you like to know? That it is a short stroke gas operated rotating bolt design? Milled from SAE 4150 steel with chromium plating in the barrel with a 1:10 twist? Graduated sights to 800 meters (Or yards, they never indicate which)?

How would culpability be assigned when all parties except the murder acted within the law?

Spare me the minutiae of your long-practiced ignorance, please. It's quite evident where my interest lies- and it's not in slapping my ass while riding an imaginary horse.

Where is Zappa ranting 'gun nut, gun nut'.....oh wait,....the shooter was black, do he'll keep his racist trap shut on this one.....

Well, I suspect that the fact that the shooter was black is why RacistX posted this in the first place. We've got a couple of sides of a similar coin.

So what is it then? What exactly would you like to know? Come out and say it, because again, I've BUILT AKs. So what I know and can tell you about them could take days. So spare me the ignorant posturing and ask your question. Unless of course you don't actually want an answer.

Those that recognise bad legislation don't accept that such legislation remains on the statute book. I accept that killers have a free pass at present .

Why is it that rightists all practice the same brand of fallacious bullshit ? The deal is dusted- you don't have any information that I'm interested in. I was mislead.

No, killers who get caught get charged, have a trial, and if convicted serve time or, preferably, get executed. The manufacturers are no the killers and are not culpable in such incidents.

You'd have been correct if you'd left out ' misguided '. But you're not.
Fine, your criminal and intellectually dishonest views that serve only to hurt people and limit their freedom. I was being generous with misguided, but do not worry. In the future I will recognize you as the hypocrite that you are, in addition to your overwhelming ignorance about rights, liberty, and firearms.

And so- folks with sane anti-gun reasoning- here's the instability of the gun lobby in microcosm. Who the hell wants assault weapons in their hands ?
