You have so many facts wrong, all of you, the non profit that lobbies for tortoise have been buying up all the grazing leases.
You guys should read the actual facts instead of buying into every rabid conspiracy theory.
I am not finding these tortoise loving grazing rights buyers.
Neil Kornze, director of the Bureau of Land Management, was a Senior Policy Advisor from 2003-2011 for Harry Reid.
Kornze, as Reid’s senior policy advisor, was instrumental in helping create the Western Solar Plan with the BLM to use public lands for energy.
The Western Solar Plan, which Kornze was instrumental in creating, was responsible for the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System. There are three towers 40 stories high with 350,000 mirrors placed directly in the habitat of the very tortoise that was at the center of Bundy’s cattle dispute. The tortoises are not in the area anymore, and the project is scorching and killing birds. The project is owned by Bright Source Energy. Coincidently, Bright Source Energy is a large donor to Harry Reid.
Along comes one of Kornze and Reid’s buddy, Harvey Whittemore—a large Reid donor, and so large he was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison for his Reid donations. Whittemore wanted to build a golf and residential resort called Coyote Springs in partnership with Bright Source Energy—a benefactor of Reid overlooking the destroying the habitat of the tortoise in question with Bundy’s ranch. Coyote Springs is 42,000 acres of prime habitat for the endangered tortoise. Of course these are the customary perks of donating to Harry Reid. If only Bundy was a donor. In all, Bright Source Energy was allotted 285,000 acres for solar development in the endangered tortoise habitat.
Along comes Rory Reid, Harry Reid’s son. Rory is an attorney in Vegas. Rory chaired the Clark County commission. Rory and his firm represent ENN Energy Group, a Chinese company. Rory was involved, I am sure coincidently, in the sale of property in Clark County to ENN for $4.5 million. But the land appraised for $29.6 million and $38.6 million from two separate appraisal firms. And coincidently, Rory’s father, Harry, had just met with ENN during his China trip about a manufacturing plant in Nevada. But not before ENN Mohave Energy LLC of Nevada was created as a subsidiary of ENN Energy Group. The ENN Mohave Energy LLC was created by Lionel Sawyer of the Nevada law firm Lionel Sawyer & Collins, which coincidently is where Rory works.
