SuperTool, how much cash is industry sitting on? Last I heard it was 2 trillion, not doing a GD thing for the economy. It is likely much more now, since that is an old number.

McDonalds. Sorry, idiot, exactly as Reich says, competition is fierce in the market McDonalds serves. Stockholders, Franchisees and upper management (salaries already bloated) will have to absorb the costs.
Maybe Micky Dees will only get to open 10 new restaurants a month instead of 20.

Wall Mart. Think Wall Mart will keep growing if they significantly raise prices, moron?
Think the owners could survive on slightly less profit?

Requirements are at least an associates (or 5 years experience), no criminal record, metallurgical knowledge, the ability to read a blueprint, operating machinery (CNC, band saw, Etc), and a forklift license.

Why should a burger flipper make as much as someone who can do all that?

the only fool here is you. We have had a minimum wage since the 30's. It has been similar since that point in time (adjusted for inflation). There is no reason to increase it.
