So I'll posit this question AGAIN, because damned if someone had an answer last time...

We have a spot open for a metallurgical lab tech where I work. Starting pay is $15/hr. Benefits are the ability to purchase health insurance (at the same rate as if you weren't employed) and an optional 401k. Requirements are at least an associates (or 5 years experience), no criminal record, metallurgical knowledge, the ability to read a blueprint, operating machinery (CNC, band saw, Etc), and a forklift license.

Why should a burger flipper make as much as someone who can do all that?

I bet you can't find anyone to fill that position at this fucking decrepit wage either can you? And that is why the position is still open. If I am correct you have posted this same shit for the past several months. Indicating you can't find anyone to fill it at this cheap-ass wage!

But I bet you think it is because there are no qualified people so you have to find or import a foreigner to do the job.

When in fact anyone who can do all that is already making far in excess of this paltry and miserable wage.

And yet you think it is fair and that others who are making $15 are just overpaid.

That's how fucked up your perspective is!

1 is the company struggling
2 is that the market rate
3 many occupations not requiring a 4 year degree get fucked by the heavy supply of candidates

30K for all that? LMAO.No wonder the position is open.
Lawn mower drivers are worth more than that.

30 K for a degreed, licenced, experienced

Many more states are going to $10!
Fires aren't breaking out

If you are going to raise the minimum wage, it should be done at the state level, not federal.

That said, the stupidity of the claim that the economy will be better if you raise the minimum wage just shows how desperate the left is. How is taking a dollar out of one pocket and putting it in another going to raise the economy?

If you raise the minimum wage... will the low skilled, semi skilled and highly skilled workers not want a raise as well?

There is also a reason tools on the left use the late 60's to compare minimum wage... http://economy.money.cnn.com/2013/02/14/minimum-wage-history/
