Robert Reich: 7 Reasons Why the Minimum Wage Should Be Raised to $15 an Hour!

Reich, along with like minded Leftist economists is a dunce of epic proportions. Arguments like these completely ignore the FACT that most employees already earn MORE than even the proposed minimum wage and the ACTUAL reasons people only earn the minimum; lack of education, newly graduated inexperienced teens and immigrant / illegal immigrant labor due to language barriers.

Reich also makes the absurd and false claim that low wage employers will be forced to absorb the additional costs due to intense competition. This is laughably stupid because entire industries will be impacted and ALL of them will increase their prices.

And giving all minimum wage workers a RAISE will put more money in circulation and increase consumption!

If you pay more for labor, the cost of goods will also tend to increase. You are not helping them, you are hurting them. The higher the unskilled wage goes, the more economically viable it is to replace them all together with technology.

the only fool here is you. We have had a minimum wage since the 30's. It has been similar since that point in time (adjusted for inflation). There is no reason to increase it.

Dear clueless twit; more money is not placed into circulation by raising the minimum wage. Arbitrary minimum wage laws merely move money already in circulation from one pocket to another. The result of which causes disruptions in the market equilibrium resulting in everyone raising prices to once again acheive equilibrium.
