Mozilla CEO resigns after donation to Prop 8

What this event has done is proven the case for privacy for political donors. Laws to expose donors to this type of harrassment are anti-Democratic and smack of Fascism.

Donate huge chunks of cash to causes to mutate our society, and we have a right to know. If you don't want to expose yourself to the righteous fury of the American people, don't attempt to forcibly alter our society through massive wads of cash, keep it to the same, equal vote that all the rest of us have. I have no sympathy for him.

That is a really great point. I flirted with the idea of being a libertarian, but something about legalizing drugs always bothered me. For some reason, thes "so called" libertarians are as militant about drug use as left wing totalitarians are about abortion.

However I have grown disenchanted with the current GOP and see them as no better than the democrats.

In the end, I am just an individual who believes in the US Constitution as written.

Haha, so you're going to keep on believing exactly the same psycho beliefs that destroyed our country during the Bush era, except you're going to give a new label to it due to your embarrassment. Typical rightist.

As are most on-line libertarians. Their numbers seems to be legion on-line, yet in actual elections.... where are they?

For the most part, on-line libertarians are liberals, with a gullible conservatives mixed in. Almost universally, the liberals are individuals who have prioritized legalized marijuana as their key issue. But at election time, they all ran back and voted for Obama.

The few conservatives are ideologues who follow the "limited government" mantra to the unrealistic extreme of virtual anarchy.

The Founding Fathers may not have envisioned the government we currently live under, however, they didn't envision virtual anarchy either.

We don't need small government, we need strong government. Government is not the problem, it is the solution.

The above is to imprecise. I support laws that prohibit employers from disciplining employees for engaging in First Amendment protected activities that have no impact on the employee's ability to do the job or the business of the employer.

Reich's donation brought shame upon Mozilla which damaged their image, just the same as if the CEO had donated to Stormfront or the KKK. Anti-gay groups are hate organizations that rightly deserve societies scorn.

If he was fired for being queer the libbies would be up in arms welcome to the lefts world of moderation Wacko

As if that's anything the same. Reich was fired for being part of a hate organization, someone fired because of their sexual orientation is simply being fired for being what they are, something they can't change. Reich can change, he can become a better person and quit his activities with hate organizations, a gay person can't. Reich brought shame upon Mozilla, a gay CEO would be a positive step forward.

I remember during the 2004 election a woman was fired for having a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker. It hit the internet for some reason. I remember the Kerry campaign commented on it, and maybe even found her a job I forget. Hard to feel too sorry for this guy, others are right, he'll land on his feet. He's in a much better position than the people who get fired every day for stupid shit.

I do support laws preventing people being fired for political speech or donations, and for things like anti-gay rights folk, I'd rather use education than the firing squad. But gays are quickly becoming the third rail. I'll tell you right now this guy could have beat up his wife and he wouldn't have had to resign. So...a word to the wise is sufficient.

CEO's don't need such protections.

A gay CEO would be gay.

I probably tuned out all of the threads that Desh was doing that on, and she could have been schooled on any topic. But, thanks for not giving up on the fight. Out of curiosity, what would your reaction be if the Rays asked TB for funds to renovate Tropicana (particularly with the fanbase not helping out as much as it could)?

I would be against them using tax dollars for it, especially, in the same area of St Pete where it just seems like a really bad business idea. The stadium itself is not the problem as much as the location. I was against the Bucs doing it. The Rays are looking to move to a new stadium, probably in Tampa or in the Gateway area of St Pete.

Also, people are fired for being gay. It's perfectly legal in 29 states. There are news reports all the time about some wing of Catholicism Incorporated firing homosexuals.

LMAO @ mutate our society. Where do you come up with such utter stupidity?

People shouldn't have to be exposed to vigilante justice for contributing money to causes they believe in. That is Fascist but consistent with the Fascist views of leftist activists.

We don't need small government, we need strong government. Government is not the problem, it is the solution.

LMAO; so if Republicans are in charge of everything, will you still have this view. Most likely not; the irony for Fascist Liberals is that they only think Government is good when their Fascist ideologues are in charge. Otherwise, Government is bad.

The nations founders are spinning in their graves and anyone with half a brain is just stunned by such claims.

Name one Bush policy that could be tied to the cause of he mortgage collapse.
