Transgenders and the issue of public restrooms

Simple Question: Should transgenders use restrooms according to their assigned sex?

Interesting, but suppose we leave God out of the equation do you believe someone ought to be forced to be in an area such as a bathroom or changing area according to their born sex?

It was, but you put "God" in your response, which means that your view or at least your original post, was largely fueled by your religious faith which is a conflict of reason because obviously people don't share your faith (sorry to make such a tangential sentence). Well, quite obviously I disagree with you. I think people should not be forced to be placed in public facilities simply because society says so.

To further my argument let me ask you, since you and I are both men but are of different ethnic groups and since we both have penises do you think I should be in a "colored" only facility? I say this because if my phenotype was assigned to me since birth do you think its right that because I had no control over my genes, I should be forced to use a separate public facility? If your answer is no then why are transgenders so different if at least psychologically, they believe they are of a specific gender?

It's a very deep debate to be had and is no where NEAR back and white. Stalls should fix almost all of the issues. If a hermaphrodite see's themselves as a male they can go into the stall in a male bathroom or vise versa.

I'm fully aware that we just broke open the tranny talk and now I'm moving onto the even more unmentionable..........but eventually they will be seen as humans we have to debate about also.

In public restrooms where they are designated according to ones sex, then out of respect for all, a person should use the restroom according to their natural assignment. Certainly seeing and holding your own penis, even if you wish it were a vagina, should not give rise to any discomfort when seeing another mans.

Transgender people have an easy enough time as it is. I think our society should make it harder on them by turning something as common as using a public restroom -- an everyday task that requires zero thought for most people -- into an experience that requires a transgendered person to question the very core of their identity as a human being. I want transgendered people to stand before two doors, one marked "Men" the other "Women," and to ponder the question searching deeply within themselves to resolve the question "What am I?" until they soil themselves, paralyzed with doubt. I mean, they have it so easy. Let's make life more difficult for them just so they know what it's like to be a heterosexual.

So, IMO, the onus is on the transgender to make others feel comfortable, not the other way around.

No, I get that you are uncomfortable around transgendered people. I just don't care and don't think your feelings should be validated by forcing transgendered people to use the wrong restroom. Basically, get over it.
