what a funny joke! America would be a better place today if we had elected a racist rapist instead of Harry Truman. I don't know why he didn't take that sort of hilarious routine onto Letterman.... Oh... I know why.... because he wasn't a comedian, he was the senior republican in the united states senate. Hilarious stuff though....really. Great joke. Do you guys tell those sorts of hilarious jokes all the time down there in yadkin county?

So... what DID happen to all those southern racist democrats? The south used to be solid blue until LBJ signed the CRA... then, within just a few election cycles, you're all voting republican. SO.... either a whole lot of democrats became republicans, or a HUGE migration of democrats from the south to the north happened... but we know that didn't happen. The south is not losing population at all. Nobody moved. Where did all those racists go? Who do they vote for now?

of course there are... and most of them vote republican, just like they do down where you're from.

Nobody ever accused Trent Lott of being a comedian, although Letterman is certainly a partisan....

A few election cycles is all it took to convince enough Democrats that their party was a racist shit hole. That, along with the availability of air conditioning, which convinced many Republicans in the north to move to a better climate, with lower cost of living and away from all that northern liberal policies.

This mirrors exactly the decline of manufacturing in the North and it's rise in the South. Funny how logic destroys your argument yet again...

and even though you say that Trent is not a comedian, rather than condemn his statement, you refer to is as a JOKE. It's a funny joke that America would be better today if we had elected a racist rapist (who later turned into a republican racist rapist) instead of Truman in 1948. To you, that's a joke. funny stuff you southerners laugh about, I gotta tell ya.

That's a hilarious accusation, because unlike you, I've actually lived many years in both the North and the South, and find the heavily Democrat North to be far more racist.

Air conditioning, along with the geopolitical trends stated that you can't deny.

Funny how all you can focus on is some dead guys tryst with a teenager decades ago while ignoring the logs in your own political party's eye.
