Senators: Benghazi attack ‘likely preventable’

Again... truth deflector.... My wife and I interviewed several gardeners/pool maintenance personnel/housekeepers recommended to us by our former landlord. They all gave us bids as to what they would charge to do the work at our house weekly. My wife and I unilaterally decided to pay the ones we chose all 25% more than their bid. They each come one day a week and work for roughly four hours each time they visit. I even give them all two weeks worth of that inflated pay each year for vacation time even though they do not work at all for me for those two weeks. Additionally, we give them all a very generous aguinaldo each December to help them with their Christmas shopping. How is that exploitation of them in any way? And do YOU pay your plumber or your electrician or ANYONE who independently contracts with you to do work around YOUR house 25% MORE than they bill you? And if not, why not?

really none of your business. It IS their business, however, and the rates they set for their services I willingly exceed.

independent contractors, setting their own rates... and I up that rate unilaterally by 25%. They certainly aren't slaves, that's for sure.

It's pertinent to the discussion of "living wage', 'union wage', benefit packages, etc. Ya know, all that stuff you liberals want for your voters, er, workers.

again... in the US, people sometimes work for companies, and sometimes they work for themselves. When they work for companies, they get paid a wage, either hourly or salary, by their employer. When they work for themselves, they determine what they want to charge for their services, what they need to charge for their services, and what they can afford to charge for their services in a competitive marketplace. The people who work for me, do work at my home only one day a week, and only for four hours on that day. They get to decide how many days a week they can afford to not work, how many clients they need to maintain in order to cover expenses... and they do that all independent of any input from me. All I do is pay them more than they ask for. Do YOU pay the contractors who bill you for their services 25% more than the amount of the bill? yes or no?

Except of course, it's entirely pertinent to the discussion, totally unlike ski clothing. Are you a fashionista now? LOL!

it is definitely NOT pertinent to the discussion, any more than what you are paid or what you pay your gardener is pertinent...

DY.... folks are talking behind the scenes about how you've come back.... I was not sure, but the posting style is pretty difficult to disguise for very long.

'Talking behind the scenes about me'? I'm flattered. But in a creepy kind of way.

In no way did I try to hide my 'style'. I'm the same old right-winger that liberals hate, because, well, I'm right and they're wrong.

As in this case, where what you pay per hour is entirely pertinent to a discussion involving wages.
