At what point do you have a right to shoot someone dead?

it's common sense that if someone has already assaulted you, that the probability of a follow up assault is high.

Perhaps. But you have lots of options other than showing deadly force in response to popcorn being thrown at you, including two you've already identified, that makes the drawing of your weapon fucking bats.

since he initiated the violence, he would not be exercising LEGAL self defense. would he?

I bet he could make a plausible argument that he was. And, more importantly, I don't think it much matters to the people who just wanted to go see a fucking movie.

so I should RISK death by concussion and other head injuries by being a man and trading fist blows instead of displaying a means of lethality in order to quell all the violence. yes, that makes major fucking sense.

so it's easier for the idiots just wanting to see a movie to blame the gun carrier for not wanting to end up hurt or dead than it is for the same fucking idiots to blame the person that stood up as a man and started a fight by throwing popcorn. more major bullshit sense.

Not sure I see how this question follows, but if my choices were you shooting at me or trying to punch me, I'd take the attempted punch.

dodging the question much? would you take his punch and any follow up kicks to the head or would you pray that someone with a gun is nearby to save your sorry ass?

1. ANYONE who attempts to shut down dialogue regarding the 2nd amendment by condescendingly claiming the question is stupid, is indeed just another gun nut.

2. but your condescending response did indeed set the tone for the entire thread.

Jarod just wanted a dialogue, but I guess even that was just too much to ask eh?

All he got was more insults and derisive taunts.

LOL! I attempted to shut down dialogue of the second amendment by saying his question was stupid? Really?

If you and I are involved with others about the 49ers-Seahawks game and I say Richard Sherman is a fag and the 49ers won't throw the ball his way because he's gay and their players don't want to get near him and you tell me that's a stupid fvcking question are you attempting to shut down the entire discussion about the game?

Um, the first option you suggested was running. I don't see how running puts you at risk of death by concussion. Nor does doing nothing. I have not once suggested confrontation. So . . .

Um, you're really going pretty far off the hypotheitcal now. In my scenario, you had popcorn thrown at you, you drew your gun, the popcorn thrower has drawn his gun in response. Now two people are aiming guns at one another in a goddamned movie theater. This is the world that you think is a sensible one.

and if i'm alone, running is a pretty good option, however, having an extremely ill spouse who is usually with me negates that response.

because it's much more intelligent to let the idiot bully beat me unconscious in front of apathetic movie goers instead of scaring the shit out of the same fucks who don't want to get involved by drawing a gun. if this is your idea of a sensible world, it needs to be blown up by the death star.

Bats.

Is anyone surprised that Top has started a lot of fights? Fucking redneck...

I've never been in a fight as an adult three dork.
I wrestled in college, knockouts happen
I'm a black belt, knockouts happen
Boxed in high school knockouts happen
So why would I walk around scared like you NRA pussies

You mean a guy like me, who has never owned a gun and never handled a single firearm until basic training? Obviously, I'm a hardcore member of the NRA. If only I could hate the Bill of Rights and love her majesty, the Queen, as you do...

So, clearly there is a place where you have a right to kill... like say you are backed into an alley being threatened with a gun. And there is a place where you have no right to kill in self defense... like say your waitress spills soup on your lap.

But where is the line? At what point do/should you have a right to shoot?

When any logical person feels that there life or the life of another may be in jeopardy.
