More Americans than forecast filed applications for unemployment benefits last week.

Another report showed the trade deficit in the U.S. was little changed in August as imports and exports stalled, indicating a loss of momentum in global economic growth. The gap increased.

It's not better for me. But then again, I'm not on welfare.

It's really not disputable that the economy is better now than it was when Obama took office.

Whether or not he is responsible for most or some of that improvement is, of course, subject to debate. In a global economy, it's kind of challenging to find one or two factors which are directly involved w/ the economy's health (there are exceptions, naturally).

Any facts to support your contention, or are you voting option # 2?

That the economy is better now than a time when we were losing millions of jobs, the market was crashing and essentially no hiring was going on whatsoever?

Gee, I dunno - that's so hard to "prove."

Well, we're gaining jobs instead of losing them, companies have plans for more hires instead of fires, and the market has been trending up instead of losing hundreds of points each week. There ya go. Whoo - that was tough.

I see no proof, only more assertions.

Got any evidence?

Thanks.

Why would you start a thread about the economy's health, when you know absolutely nothing about what is going on w/ hiring & firing, and with the stock market?

I don't get that. Maybe you should stick to topics you at least have scant knowledge on?

The labor participation rate is at its lowest since 1978, so where is the improvement?

As far as the stock market, that has everything to do with BernanQE than it does with anything Obama has done. Unless you can prove otherwise with FACTS

I asked a question, and you have attempted to give your opinion.

Got any facts?

Here was my initial response.

Man, are you connies hard of reading.

None of the aabove is the answer. He hasn't been able to improve the US economy because the bagger swine have prevented any progress. They're racists and haters who can't get over the fact that a black president must be uppity.

It's my "opinion" that the economy is gaining jobs instead of losing them, that companies are doing more hiring than firing, and that the stock market has been trending up?

Really? You sure you want to stick w/ that assertion?
