Obamacare screws the young & healthy

Health club membership? Are you kidding? That's part of the reason for the Cadillac tax. Healthcare in this country has to get back to being about health.

Why should the taxpayer pay for your son's health club membership?

So, you're comparing paying $0/month, to paying a premium? What is his new deductible? Remember...we're discussing catastrophic policies

Cadillac? Hardly. He paid for any DR visits and meds out of pocket. The company paid for major medical coverage with $1000 deductible. Oh, no dental or vision coverage. It was one plan offered and one had to qualify for it. No smokers and had to pass physical that included non-stress test. Considering he was 23 and a long distance runner, he qualified. He had 0 premiums and the company contributed their 'average contribution towards 'med. insurance' benefit into a health account. He could use those money only towards paying Dr/dentist/meds/ and a portion of health club membership. Since all he ever used for Dr was annual physical, most of the money was rolled over to the next year. He had enough in that account to pay the deductible for 3 years of major medical if needed.

That is one type of plan that should have been included in 'reform.' Yes, he had a company paying for his major medical and using his medical 'benefits' contributions in a plan of his choice. Yes, he had to use a yearly physical to prove he still qualified for that very limited coverage, perhaps at 35 or 40 blood pressure would increase or BMI go the wrong way, or blood work, etc., they he would have to move to more comprehensive and have been paying for his contribution.

Awesome...I had TWO threads dedicated to me going all weekend and all you ignorant asswipes were here talking about ME all weekend! And since I actually HAVE a life...their pathetic 24 hour ban was over before I even got back online.

Then how do you explain all your butthurt threads & posts whining about how cruel and unfair Grind is?

I can't wait to see your explanation...

Must be a shitty salary if 300 is a burden

Considering he's 28 and newly married, doesn't make a ton, though more than average for the area. Saving for house and kids though, tends to cut one's disposable income. His previous plan he paid 0 and had a medical fund with employer contribution to be used to offset costs if needed for dental, vision, doctor visits. He had no need to hit for vision, his annual physical was paid for by the company to ensure he still qualified for his 'choice.' If he had needed major medical, he could use whatever was in that account towards his deductible. In other words, his company encouraged those that qualified to maintain their health. From the 'health account' he could apply a % towards his gym membership-not pay the whole amount.

To answer someone else's question about his new deductible, it's $500 now, again the company is paying 'their share' not the 'tax payers.'

There are still high deductible plans, that are HSA eligible. Why doesn't his employer offer one?

Why such a low deductible?

Just cause you have a job doesn't mean you should buy everything someone will finance you for.
Liberals and progressives are not what I would call financially astute in general.

It is "finance for you" not "finance you for." Dimwit. Where did you go to college again?

Libtards and Progressives are not astute in anything; which is why they vote for dimwitted asshats like Obama, Waters, Reid and Pelosi as the best examples of low information voting sheeple.

By the way, who did you vote for my grammatically challenged dimwitted antagonist?

They are astute enough to be bad and kick the dig shit out of you teabaggers.
College grads are way more dem than repuke

Again when you have a job don't max out your spending.
Is losing a job a freak event, no it's routine.
That's what savings are for.
Excuses are for losers

Typed like a true “leftist stereotype” tea bagger redneck living in the back woods; are you sure your posts aren't you projected your dimwitted point of view onto everyone else?

I think you have a tea bagging fetish myself; quite disgusting but something I would not be surprised goes on in trailer homes in the back woods. After all, what female in her right mind would go for a dimwitted twit living in a trailer home?
