Affordable insurance, my husband kept working so I, as a cancer patient could have insurance, now with Affirdable Healthcare, I can get insurance and he can retire without that worry!
He didn't say can't work, he said could barely work. You see, for older people that don't qualify for Medicare or Medicaid and who have pre-existing conditions (being old is akin to one), getting private insurance is damned expensive if not impossible to get. The ACA changes that because insurers have to take people with pre-existing conditions and are restricted as to how much they can charge people for being old. SO, people who really shouldn't be working but keep their jobs because it's the only way for them to get insurance, can now obtain affordable insurance other than through their employer and quit their jobs and retire.
Get it? Probably not, but it was worth a shot.

They are only temporarily exempted from raising their costs. If the assumptions made by this buffoonish legislation do not materialize, IE, millions of younger payers who do not need care, what do you think will happen to the costs?
How do you pay for the insurance if you are not working? ACA is not free; you have to BUY it. Or are you saying that millions will no longer have to worry about paying for insurance as the subsidies will be paid by the rich? Really?
Apparently you are the one who is not getting it; the premise of the thread is false and moronic in that it suggests that one no longer need to worry about working to pay for their healthcare. That is a lie; someone still has to work to pay for it.
It is also moronic in that it presumes that the ONLY reason one works in a job they may not like is because of the healthcare benefits; yet only the largest companies offer any kind of major coverage.
Here is a clue for the clueless; people do not work in order to have healthcare, they work so that they can afford a home or apartment, so that they can put food on the table, buy a car, provide for their children, pay for their kids higher education and if they are smart, put a little aside every month for retirement and for a myriad of other reasons unrelated to healthcare. This notion that the primary reason people work in jobs they may not like is due to healthcare insurance is a great lie that only the dumbest and most gullible among us buy.
The other great lie is that ACA now provides the indigent and poor access to healthcare; that is why we had Medicaid which will now be defunded to help fund ACA which will fall woefully short of funds its first few years which is another of the many lies this greatest of liars Obama has foisted upon gullible low information fools.
