Disgusting

Other than the fact that forced birthers just find abortion abhorrent, what negative effects does it have on our country as a whole so that it should be illegal? There are some indications that there have been positive effects that have occurred since Roe v. Wade. Other than the population not increasing by about 1.3 million people per year, what is the actual "pick my pocket or break my leg" effects?

multiple generations born with a callous disregard for life.....

if violent crime is down because of abortion, does that mean mass murders are up because of abortion?..........if cocaine use is down because of abortion does that mean meth use is up because of abortion?........

I guess if the criteria is "things that happened 15-20 years after legalization of abortion", then abortion also gave us the internet and video games........

Here's an idea, trying arguing with the data instead of resorting to emotional responses. Callous disregard for life? As evidenced by what? Higher violent crime rates? oops nope, my on posts prove that. So what callous disregard for life are you talking about. Fuck sake the abortion rate has been in decline and was at an all time low since Roe in 2009. Read here. I understand you don't like abortion. I don't either, I just don't want it to be illegal. Your dislike however does nothing to change my position that since Roe there has been NO negative (break my leg, pick my pocket) effect on the US. NONE.

didn't I see a thread around here about 260 mass murders in 270 days?......mass murders are up.....don't argue with the data......
Your citing coincidental data, while the freakonomics and U of Chicago sites I posted show actual correlation. Even you can see the difference.

Well, you forced deathers just don't seem to care about anything but dehumanizing the child, so can we really expect a rational discussion from you?

I am all for a rational discussion. Show me where there has been real honest to god provable detrimental effects on this country from the legalization of abortion. I don't deny that abortion terminates human life. Genetically from the moment of conception, the zygote, blastocyst, embryo is human and shows signs of life. But I maintain that not only has there been negligible negative effects, there have been some positive effects to Roe.

For starters, one very big detrimental effect is that you end the lives of human beings. Human beings that could be the next Einstein, MLK, etc...

Secondly, to support the termination of their lives (or the 'right' for others to do so out of convenience) is barbaric.

Third, if you truly think it negligible, then stop and think about the lives you have changed, the accomplishments you have made etc... then imagine if your parents had chosen to abort you rather than give birth. Would that be negligible?

Ending the lives of an unwanted fetus is not ending the life of a potential Einstein. What a cheap argument to say it is. Too many American heads are fucked up by religious sky fairy beliefs. Other countries citizens spend their time in much more productive ways than hating each other over abortion rights.

Decisions are made all the time that end human lives, lives in being and not potential lives. 88% of all abortions occur within the first 12 weeks of gestation. The fetus has no idea that it even exists. It feels no pain, Only 1.5 percent of abortions occur at 21 weeks. I don't know how many of those are therapeutic, but I imagine a substantial amount are.

As to who they could be, sure they could be the next Einstein or MLK or even Gandhi. They could also be the next Bundy, Hitler or Pol Pot. Both of these arguments are appeals to emotion. The U of Chicago paper shows that in some substantial amount, it is aborting males that would otherwise commit crimes. That is a benefit.

If my mother had aborted me, I wouldn't know. My absence would not be noticed.

1) I am agnostic
2) The life you are ending is that of a human being... who are you to know what potential that individual may or may not have?

1) It is not a potential life... that is simply an attempt to dehumanize it. Self awareness does not dictate life.
2) Just because the child may not be aware of its own existence does not mean it doesn't have a right to live.

Not an appeal to emotion, but to reason. The vast majority of people in this world are good people. Yes, they could be a Dahmer or Bundy or Hitler... etc... but the odds are in favor of them being a good person. Saying that it is a benefit that many of the abortions take away males that would otherwise commit crimes is not only racist, but it is also class warfare and blatantly wrong. By that logic we should require the poor inner city families (white/black/hispanic) to abort unless they can prove they can break the cycle.

If my mother had aborted me, I wouldn't know. My absence would not be noticed.

So the people you have helped in life would not notice? You really believe your life has had that little meaning?

First off, I agree, most people born are good. However, what you seem to miss from the data is a statistically significant number those that have been aborted since Roe would have probably committed crimes. A large enough number that beginning approximately 18 years after Roe we see a drop in the crime rate. Those states that legalized 3 years prior to Roe see the same drop in crime rates three years early than the rest of the Country,

Sell it to someone gullible, your baby killing is eating you up

The label doesn't fit me, so if you are trying to get me riled, you can go bother someone else. I mean if face to face you'd be picking up your teeth, but I would do it with a smile on my face.
