Blaming the victim?

Attorneys are set to pin a Georgia mother who witnessed her 13-month-old son heartlessly shot between the eyes as the real killer behind his death.

The teen who prosecutors say shot a man only 10 days earlier in another attempted street robbery "kept asking, and I just said 'I don't have it, and he said, 'Do you want me to kill your baby?' And I said, 'No, don't kill my baby!"'

A single .22-caliber bullet was fired between the child's eyes.

A second bullet struck the mother's leg and a third grazed her left ear.

Witnesses who responded to the scene said they found West desperately attempting to administer CPR to her child's lifeless body.

Elkins' alleged accomplice, 15-year-old Dominique Lang, who has told investigators Elkins fired the gun that shot the boy, is also charged with murder but will be tried later on. He's expected to be a key witness against Elkins.

Elkins' mother Karimah Aisha Elkins, left, and Katrina Latrelle Elkins, right, were arrested for allegedly providing false statements or writings. Police say Karimah Elkins and her sister, Debra Obey, helped hide evidence in the crime.

You left out some important information.

From your link: "Defense attorneys say Sherry West had "financial interest in the death of her son," Antonio Santiago, after she took out a life insurance policy before his savage murder in March, according to a pretrial motion.
"Other evidence of record suggests Sherry West is mentally unstable, gave several inconsistent accounts of how the crime transpired, and had a financial interest in the death of her son in the form of an insurance policy," public defender Kevin Gough said in a court motion filed Aug. 5."

Also from your link: "Hoping to debunk West's innocence, defense attorneys argue that West was the only one who claims to have seen Elkins pull the trigger.
She also jumped to cash in her life insurance policy on her baby in the days immediately after, according to her 21-year-old daughter, Ashley Glassey.
Speaking to WTLV in late March, Glassey said her mother called her just days after Antonio's shooting to inform her of her young brother's death and also ask, "How soon do you think the life insurance policy will send me a check?"

Glassey said her mother's bizarre behavior of crying one moment and sounding completely fine the next, made her suspicious."

Nice try and only copying and pasting select parts to make it seem like a big travesty of justice.

Are you claiming the accused's relatives hid evidence and his alleged accomplice (an eyewitness) because the dead child's mother shot her son and herself?

I am not claiming anything. I simply pointed out that you selectively cut & pasted the specifics that made it seem like a travesty, without mentioning the fact that the mother may be deranged and that she was asking about the life insurance check within days of the murder of her child.

The defense is bringing up interesting questions. And that is their job.

Their job is to get their client acquitted, isn't it?

That they're trying to blame the victim isn't disputable, is it?

The facts that you elected not to copy & paste show a definite basis for the claims of the defense.

Do you think the mother asking "How soon do you think the life insurance policy will send me a check?" just days after her child was murdered is not suspicious? It certainly sounds suspicious to me.

How do you know that conversation took place?

BTW, maybe you and Owey should help each other read the board rules you agreed to when you signed up.

I have read the rules. If you want to claim that I am not complying with any of those rules, please point out which rule I have violated. Otherwise it is simply nonsense to make such posts.

Did I claim you violated any rules? I pointed out that apparently you aren't familiar with them.

Ok, you claim I am unfamiliar with the rules. What basis do you have for such a claim?

Some of your statements in this thread seem to indicate an unfamiliarity with the board rules. Read them, and get back to me. You seem intelligent, reasonable and fair-minded.

Another thread?

If the "noob" Patrician is so well-versed on the rules, why doesn't he know about self-moderation?

Let's debate the murder of a baby. Go.

No thanks, not interested in debating the murder of babies, you are basically trolling by posting thread after thread about blacks who commit crimes, as if no whites murder children, calling them Trayvonites. You don't want a debate, you want to troll.
