Bill Nye, 'Science Guy,' condemns creationist influence in classrooms

Apparently you are just as dumb as ditzy, maybe dumber. We can divide 1 by 3 and come up with three equal parts. You even stated as much by saying 1/3 + 1/3 +1/3 =1. So either your first statement was wrong or your second. It was your second. 1 divided by 3 = 1/3. 1/3 = 1/3.
lol.......1/3 + 1/3 +1/3 =1 is a true mathematical statement.....so is 1/3 = 1/3.....and so is "you cannot divide 1 by 3 without having an infinitely smaller remainder"......
....apparently you were never smart enough to understand what Dixie was talking about.......do you still have the Casio pocket calculator you got when you were a kid.......

It has nothing to do with my beliefs.
this is why you will never understand what we're talking about....

I understood how and why ditzy was wrong, just fine. 1 can be divided by 3 into equal values of 1/3. You seemed to understand it to when you said...

we can divide one into three equal parts, we just cannot express that fact using the decimal system

But then you showed your stupidity and confusion with...

an object with a weight described as "1" unit in a base 10 system would be equal to a weight of "1.2" units in a base 12 system

Ditzy was and is a moron, as are you. I understand exactly what you are talking about and I have explained where you went wrong. You are just too stupid to follow and too stubborn and dishonest to admit error.

well, actually no, its just that the difference between the "equal" parts can be so small the human eye can't measure it......if you express it as .3 to the 7 millionth power you still have .01 to the 7 millionth power left over......

an object with a weight described as "1" unit in a base 10 system would be equal to a weight of "1.2" units in a base 12 system
but unfortunately for your argument we don't have a base 12 system.....which means that mathematically, the statement that one divided by three will always leave a infinitely smaller remainder is in fact a true statement.....

OMG! So you now repudiate your previous claim and agree with Ditzy? Wow, you are becoming stupider.

We do have a base 12 system. It's not used frequently, but that has no bearing on the fact that we can, in fact, divide 1 into equal thirds.

no, if you did you would simply accept it as fact and stop humiliating yourself.....

I am sure some wish I would just let it go, but you are the only one humiliating yourself. First with your idiotic statements that science is atheistic beliefs or a faith claim. Now you are adding to it with math.

Prof Baxter, believe me we all now know PMP doesn't know a damn thing about science and can't defend himself from an attack from a single fly, much less from you.

But if you want to stop answering him, don't worry; we all know you stomped him into the ground many posts ago. He is thoroughly humiliated whether he realizes it or not.

does it worry you that even though I can't defend myself from the attack of a fly you have to put me on ignore and ban me from your threads because you're afraid of the questions I might ask you?.....like what your calculator says to you when you type in 1 divided by 3?.......

I have repudiated nothing......1/3 +1/3 +1/3 = 1 is ALSO a true mathematical statement.....

You certainly have. You once responded to ditzy with...

we can divide one into three equal parts, we just cannot express that fact using the decimal system

Which is, mostly, correct in context though not very well phrased. But you are now arguing that...

you cannot divide 1 by 3 and come up with 3 equal parts
and

the difference between the "equal" parts can be so small the human eye can't measure it......if you express it as .3 to the 7 millionth power you still have .01 to the 7 millionth power left over.....

1/3, 1/3 and 1/3 are three equal parts that together make 1. Therefore, we can divide 1 into three equal parts. If the first statement is true the second must be true.

If 1/3, 1/3 and 1/3 are three equal parts that together make 1 then it cannot be true that you cannot divide 1 by 3 and come up with 3 equal parts.

Either you are a troll that is now incorporating ditzy where you once pretended to differ from him or you are becoming progressively more stupid.

dude.....every statement I have made here is a mathematical reality.....why do you insist on making yourself look like a fucking idiot......go away and evolve into something more advanced on your own time.....

These two statements do not agree...

we can divide one into three equal parts
...and...
you cannot divide 1 by 3 and come up with 3 equal parts

You have stated both. You are an idiot and are "devolving."

can you divide one by three and not have an infinitely smaller and smaller remainder left behind?.....

Which one of your statements are you now saying is wrong? Can we divide one into three equal parts or can we not divide 1 by 3 and come up with 3 equal parts?

neither is wrong....both can be proven true....it just depends on the context.....you remember context right?.....its your favorite defense....

by the way, it does not go unnoticed that even though I have asked you the same question specifically three times you haven't got the balls to answer it......

reminds me of the story where a mother is splitting the last cupcake between her two kids....she cut it in half and one said "his half is bigger"......she said "you're right" and took a big bite out of the other kid's half........that kid promptly said "hey, now his is bigger".....she said "You're right" and took a big bite out of the other half.....neither kid complained after that....

you can divide a cake into three equal parts.....but if you weigh them on a scale accurate to a millionth part, you will find they are not in truth, equal.....

No, the context has not been changed and if you care to, make an argument on how. Both cannot be right.

Can we divide one into three equal parts or can we not divide 1 by 3 and come up with 3 equal parts?

I have answered your question several times, chickenshit. You are evading my question and attempting a red herring. 1 can be divided into 3 equal values of 1/3.

OMG, you are just as moronic as ditzy! lol.

Assume the cake is 12 ounces We can divide it into three pieces of 4 ounces.
