yeah everyone know judges kids get off
its the best system super duper can think of

LOL... you honestly think he got off because his dad used to be a judge?

That said, what would you change about our system Desh? Would you remove the standard of reasonable doubt?

No, it is not irrelevant. How often to do we hear about the call for justice for those young black men who are killed by other young black men? No, we only hear about it when the young black man is killed by someone of a different race. In this case by an Hispanic man.

Can you honestly say the prosecution made its case beyond a reasonable doubt? That is what they are required by law to do.

You aren't listening, I am very aware of the problem as are black community leaders who are working on a solution, but the privileged white folk like to ignore the very deep social problems and blame the black youth.

Your pointing to this is a diversion and it has racial undertones, reconsider your tactics.

I am seriously trying to understand your point. What I do not see is where I am ignoring anything. It is not a diversion as much as it is a question. Why is it that Martins death, while tragic, is different than the kids in Chicago dying daily? Why no national outcry for them? I honestly don't get the difference.

I fully understand the injustices within our legal system, especially for minorities. The drug war highlights that quite well... and that is not to say it doesn't exist elsewhere... just that the drug war is quite obvious.

I also don't understand how 'white privilege' is involved in a case involving an Hispanic man and a black teenager.

and murders go free

yes, that does happen. We have seen it before and we will see it again. Because the prosecution must be able to show beyond a reasonable doubt that the person did it. So unless you are suggesting we change that standard, then it will continue.

It is just what they are demonstrating about, the laws need to change.

Sorry... but you are simply full of shit. You are bound and determined to label everyone who disagrees with you as a racist. That is quite sad.

Choose whatever labels you like.

Find whatever excuses you like.

This divide is good news. As with Emmett Till, the winds of change are blowing.

I don't believe Zimmerman because he lies. It became obvious when he tried to fool the court about his financial situation.

I understand that position. My point is that it is very easy to simply sit here and proclaim it is because he is Hispanic. Just as Desh proclaims that we are ignoring Jeantel's testimony simply because she is black. I do not ignore her testimony. But the testimony of others contradicts her. That doesn't make her a liar, it doesn't mean she heard incorrectly... but it does mean that there was reasonable doubt due to conflicting testimony.

Never mind, if you don't understand, you never will.

We need to change the reasonable doubt? Given the disparities in convictions and sentencing of minorities, I would think that is the last thing that people would want to change.

What testimony conflicted with hers? Zimmerman the liars?

There is a divide because you want a divide. If what you say about yourself is true, then you sit by in your Mercedes and "white living" while your people suffer. You rant about the injustices, but you don't do anything about it. You just say things to make yourself feel good. You are a typical liberal. You got yours, fuck everyone else and just pay lip service. You cripple black people for your own personal aims. That is ashame

I so love that you have lifted your mask and the real you is out there for everyone to see.

I have stated multiple times that Zimmerman profiled Martin due to his race and the race of those that had been burglarizing the area of late. Don't know how many times I have to say it before people stop saying I don't get it. What I said above that you quoted was that Darla and Desh made it about 'white' men with regards to what Lorax and I have said. They have called us racists for simply disagreeing with them. Legally, the correct decision was made by the jury. Morally, not so.

As I have said many times, I do think he did. As for who he reported, again... look at the police reports as to the recent string of break ins. It was predominantly young black males that were reported, not only by Zimmerman, but by others as well. Back in 2012 when this occurred, one of Zimmermans black neighbors said the same thing. That it was young black males not from the area that were committing the robberies.

While I agree he made a bad assumption as to Martins intent, the reason he killed Martin was that Martin was beating on him.

This is where we differ. It is not about white privilege. Zimmerman was Hispanic. A minority as well. Yet somehow those on 'your side' keep trying to portray him as white.

Over half the residents of that gated community were black, Hispanic or Asian.

It is because I have no backbone.

LOL I love this response.

I just feel sad again reading this today. Superfreak actually isn't a racist, he just doesn't know how to listen, and arrogantly presumes he knows. A long time ago I told him that his postion on Acorn was a racist one, not meaning that he actually was racist. He flipped man. That's what led, at least in my mind, to our biggest falling out, because he was still enraged over that when Tom started his infamous rape thread.

Some people just don't want to listen. Or can't. At least not yet. I don't think they're hopeless, I just can't really stand listening to them talk.
