I have both in my home, it is why I said, nope. I don't think rabbit would call me religious or right, lol.
I don't have a gun, and grew up without any around.![]()
The "right" would say you are uneducated to discuss the topic then.

OK old doll, suppose you tell me then exactly who they are?
Obama - "They cling to their guns and their religion."
They started out as Christian fundamentalists then the Tea parties became the religious right and before them everybody living in so called red states were the religious right and now you and the rest of the progressives can't identify them without throwing a net over the whole country.
Or perhaps those Christians who choose not to push for laws based solely on their religious beliefs?
They're those who want to impose the teachings of their religion upon the nation's public policy - most notably in the example of authoritarian social policy.
rather than building another gaudy mega-church or to back some hate-filled piece of legislation?
I'm guessing that is what they meant.
oh, you mean Jeremiah Wright's church.....oops......guess that's the Christian right based on your definition.....
right....because smaller federal government, lower taxes, reduced deficit spending, secure borders, and no abortion are all spelled out in the book of 2nd Corinthians.......
oh, you mean Jeremiah Wright's church.....oops......guess that's the Christian right based on your definition.....
right.....nothing hate filled about "God Damn America".......can't be.....he's a liberal......they don't "do" hate.......
Yeah, the republicans have done wonders at making a smaller gov't, securing our borders, and lowering taxes on EVERYONE.
The republicans have grown the gov't bigger and bigger, just like the dems. Neither Reagan, nor H. Bush nor George Bush did squat to secure our borders.
No, the religious right is not concerned about those, or if they are it is a secondary concern. They are far more conerned with keeping gay marriage illegal & unrecognized. They are much more concerned with banning porn. They are much more concerned with putting nativity scenes on courthouse lawns.
They want THEIR religious beliefs to be reflected in our laws.
Try that crap with someone else. What I believe Tekky was saying was that your attempt to say that I am against conservative hate speech but support liberal hate speech is bullshit.
I see what the Totalitarian Left want. People of faith not involved in politics.

No, churches must keep their exemptions, politics notwithstanding. If the black churches can stump for communist candidates which you, as a Communist support, then Conservative churches should be able to talk about politics. Now, as far as your drivel. You cannot take religion out of government no matter how hard you and the rest of the totalitarian Left try. The first amendment was not designed to keep religion out of government, it was designed to keep government out of religion.Nonsense. We don't want them putting their particular religious beliefs into law, when not everyone agrees on them.
Now on some things, people of all faiths and people of no-faiths can come together - murder; slavery; theft; etc. But there are differences among religions - catholics are staunchly anti-death penalty; I agree with that stand, personally. But have you noticed there are catholic politicians who are pro-death-penalty? So they aren't putting the view of the church into law.
During the civil rights days (and still), black churches were very involved in getting segregation reversed, getting black people the right to vote. I have no problem with people of faith being involved in politics. And when they support expanding rights, taking care of the poor and elderly, and economic justice - I agree with them.
But the conservative right-wing churches want to limit rights and don't seem to feel an obligation to take care of any poor except the ones in their congregation. I don't agree with them and I will continue to say that.
And if muslims came along and tried to put into law that everyone had to pray five times a day - I'd be against that law. and if jews came along trying to make it the law that all males must be circumcised - I again would say they had not right to put their religious practices into law.
But by the way - I ALSO think churches who want to participate in politics should pay taxes. If they want to influence the country's politics, they shouldn't get special standing tax-wise.
