would you have preferred mittens?
as for giving Obama a pass, have you seen pictures of him before he ran for the senate and compared them with how he looks now?
and how do you expect him to lead through the walls that the repugs have erected in the house and senate
the word compromise is not in the repug lexicon
so where is the room to lead, he has done what he can with regard to appointments and executive orders, but even here the repugs block him when they can
the only thing he can hope for is a friendly off year election in 2014 where he may pick up enough seats to reestablish control of congress or at least the senate
how would you suggest that he lead the nation?
he is already hitting the campaign trail to tout his agenda
it is not that i give him a pass, but i do not see how he can do more than he is doing
as for him never having been a leader before, he has experience leading a team trying to better Chicago streets and solving various urban problems
oh and while he is at it, he has been trying to clean up the mess handed to him when he took office
as for blaming the repugs being 'just partisanship', while i am not in love with the dim agenda, i prefer it head and shoulders above the repug agenda, but i do not give either side a complete zero for some things in their agenda
as a final statement, Robert A Heinlein's comment on voting is quite correct, 'whenever you have the chance to vote do so, there may be no one or nothing that you want to vote for, but there is almost always someone or something that you want to vote against'
since i live in a 'blue' state and district, it does not matter a whole lot who i vote 'for' so i find myself voting more and more for independents and against most propositions
bummer
