Out of the top six from pmp's source 3 say miscarriage (Amplified, Common English, Contemporary English) the Complete Jewish says "unborn child dies." The other two say "her fruit depart."

The Jews, apparently, have always translated it as miscarriage.

Killing the fetus is treated as a property crime against the father/husband only. Even harm to the woman is really only important because she is property of the man. Christians naturally see abortion as wrong and want their God to see it the same way so they have transferred their emotions on to him. But the bible clearly does not treat it as equal even to the mother, which it treats as less important than the father. The bible has less feeling for the fetus than most advocates of legal abortion.

You may be right....I see it as wrong...but I also understand that, according to my religion, that there's no sin that can't be forgiven. I am also not one to make moral decisions for others...so I reject the notion that Roe v Wade should be overturned. According to fundies, that makes me an accessory to murder and a baby killer by proxy...even though I don't condone the practice.

I'd still like to know, why the silence on the male's part in this? Perhaps if Males would step up to the plate and raise the kid on THEIR own, there would be less abortion.

I am surprised by the stunning silence when it comes to this...even from my liberal peers.

when did I say it didn't matter, The father should take as much responsibility never said he shouldn't, it takes to people of opposite sexes to make a child. I would be all for the child being born and given to the father if that's the way the mother wanted. Problem is the father has no rights if the mother decides to abort, and that is wrong.

The problem with you is IF it was mandatory you don't care. You don't care because it is your beliefs that the school MIGHT be forcing kids to listen to. If this was a school forcing kids to listen to a Muslim Imam you and a million other conservative christians would be shitting down both legs to fill their shoes about it. No problem with forced indoctrination so long as it is Christian.

So....the old Testament isn't the word of God? Inspired writings? Why if that's the case, could it be that the word of God in the New Testament was bastardized by Roman influence at the Nicene Council?

How many laws did they write in? According to Gnostic Gospels, Mary Magdalene was the disciple on which the church was to be built(not Peter) and Judas Iscariot was not a traitor...but chosen by Christ himself to turn him over...

But the "church" portrayed Mary as a whore and Judas as an evil betrayor of Jesus.

Who's right? Who's wrong? God knows...us? Not so much.

Just something to think about.

no it doesn't....a footnote points out there is an UNUSED alternate translation for the Hebrew word.....obviously those who wish to justify their killing of unborn children would like to pretend that the NIV says "or miscarriage" but in fact the NIV does not say "or miscarriage"....thus you remain the only lying sack of shit in the argument......
