The World's First Entirely 3D-Printed Gun

how does that remind you of that situation? there is nothing in common between a 3d printing story and what you just said other than a gun.

Priorities. People would spend thousands and thousands of dollars for a 3-d printer to make a $400 dollar gun. Just like that family gave up food for a week to buy their kid a gun.

Now that I think about it, that may not have been a bad idea.

One less mouth to feed and all that...:)

Other than I get this makes guns more easily accessable, I cannot in any way (as of yet, at least) wrap my mind around this concept at all. No clue what any of the details actually mean. :(

Think of it the....internet equivalent of guns. Well, sort of. 3D printing air rifles (such as the one below) is the NEXT revolution, for many reasons.

Nope. But you should maybe do some research on the expectations and projections for 3d printing. Yesterday, it was reported that Staples will begin carrying one. They don't all cost $30,000.

Did I say all.
I listed the price of the one that was used to create the 3D printing of the gun.
Maybe you should attempt to read all the information, prior to posting a reply; because this may just assist you in your quest to make yourself knowledgable.

I have no idea what your point was, other than to be an asshole. But it can be printed on a Makerbot, which can be purchased for $2200.

This development was expected but it's still significant. Eventually, 3d printers will be able to produce more effective guns than this. Regulation of it will be virtually impossible.

How long would this type of gun last?

think progress. how much longer do you think it will be before we can start printing out of metal?
