2014 - the Republicans will keep the House, gain the Senate -- No Doubt

I'd agree with you if I thought that this budget would help get anything worthwhile done, but it won't becuase what it proposes is not worthwhile. Compromise for the sake of compromise, as opposed to compromise to achieve something beneficial and good, is not worth doing.
Thank you Dung....I've been struggling to say those very words. Compromise for compromise sake is just.....well insane!

So he's supposed to sell us out so that he can compromise on a deal that sucks to begin with? Howey! The President won the election, he's supposed to defend our position, we gave him a mandate to do so. He's not the one that needs to compromise. He's in the position of strength. Let the other side compromise and if they don't, let them pay the price at the polls.

It's incomprehensible that he would betray those whom elected him just so he could give our SS benefits away just to show Repubs that he can compromise on a nonbinding document! It's STUPID!

1) He is not in a position of strength
2) He is a weak President who doesn't know how to lead
3) He has no clue what to do, so he is winging it
4) The Reps have compromised... he got his tax increases on the rich, now he wants MORE tax increases on the rich.
5) Obama wants to avoid sequestration cuts (which hit defense hard as they should) but he wants to make cuts to LIHEAP?

More taxes on the rich is what the majority wanted and want. The Rep are repping their constituents.

Let me be perfectly honest here...and I'm speaking as probably the most progressive liberal on this forum.

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT OBAMA TO DO???

Here's how all this goes down...

1. Republicans demanded that President Obama accept Social Security cuts through chained-CPI.

2. Obama, eager to reach a compromise, grudgingly agreed and offered Republicans what they asked for.

3. Republicans then attacked Obama for proposing the policy they demanded.

It's not just this, it's everything legitimate before Congress since 2009. There's only two choices now.

1. Obama can stick to his principles and nothing will get done. No budget will pass and everyone one of you will bitch and blame either him or the republicans.

2. Obama can try to compromise with the republicans and get something done.

We have obstructionism at every bend, we have abuse of the filibuster system, we have gerrymandering, we have voter disenfranchisement, we have judicial holds, we have no government. It's not Obama's fault.

Thats funny....no budget will pass.....Obama actually proposed 2 budgets and NOT EVEN ONE DEMOCRAT voted for them.....

A budget resolution based on President Obama’s 2013 budget failed to get any votes in the Senate on Wednesday.

In a 99-0 vote, all of the senators present rejected the president’s blueprint.

It’s the second year in a row the Senate has voted down Obama’s budget.

Pinheads reject the pinhead-in-chief

Poor Howey......he'll still blame the Republicans, the powerless right

You have some points, especally regarding Social Security and Medicare. Failed forign policy? Not from my perspective.

I also think this just might play well into Clinton's hands.... She left the administration, she can say she was always better than Obama and that the Republicans are extreem, if they controll Congress she can blame them for anything bad. She can run against both the Congress and Obama, instead of running against Jeb Bush.
The BenghaziGate dissaster will always be there waiting to follow her around the Campaign trail. "The Hillary" failed to splain it to US, so the buck stops with her, no matter what Obama did or did not do. Bubba cannot hep her with The Hillary's failure to take proper action, action that would have saved the lives of the Ambassador and the three others killed in Beghazi...to bad, she screwed it up....shades of Monica Lewinski

Hillary will position herself between Jeb and Obama and run as the Moderate.
Hilliary wont run. If she does and the Repubs don't pick another ideologue or plutocrat then the Repubs will probably win. I'm guessing now that Christie will be the Repub nominee and I think he can beat Hilliary (or Biden).

The only people that wouldn't vote for Hillary because after Benghazi are people that wouldn't vote for Hillary before Benghazi.

So the same Republicans who are insenced about the Benghazi deal, are the same ones who wanted silence over the thousands killed in Iraq?

That's what you said the last midterms that resulted in one of the greatest takeovers of the House in American history.

Excuses aside .. a republican House and Senate are the result.

The difference being that many americans now know that the best GOP candidate (out of an entirely laughable field of clowns) was Mitt. Face it, the GOP is done and even middle america knows it. Time for the Libertarians to step out of the shadows and fully separate from the GOP. Give the voters a real choice.
