Don't know....and don't really care....but my guess is that the Holy See isn't quite ready for a non-European to be Pope.....I mean it took like what, 500 years to have a non-Italian Pope?

actually, he has the ear of most world leaders. and catholics number in the hundreds of millions. this translates to a powerful and influential figure on (not to) the entire world.

too much power IMO.

that is entirely possible and you might very well be correct. the reason i think they will pick someone from latin america is the vast number of catholics there. you make a very good point though.

Where do you get the application form? Looked in Sits Vac, but not there. Hours are bad but pay is OK and you dont have to wear silly clothes when you are at home watching the footy on TV. Could probably be as good as the present incumbent and do it all by Skype from my lounge.

Shouldn't the title of this thread be, "Who will stop the world's Catholics?" My answer is pedophile priests. I think this issue could blow the Roman Catholic Church to smithereens.

Why do lefties get so upset when you mention the paedos in the UN.

There's talk of pedophelia in the church because of its' archaic rules banning married priests.

But priests are sworn christians and NONE of them should molest children.
Schoolteachers are mostly liberals and what can you expect from godless liberals anyway?
