Who cares if the deficit hasn't been growing? It has maintained near the same levels as the crisis year. There is no justification for this. You cannot avoid the inevitable. We are going to take some pain at some point. The longer we wait, the worse it is going to get. Just look at Greece. When they started showing signs of problems 3 years ago they had about $240B in debt. Now with all of the 'solutions' they have about 2.5 times that amount of debt. Now they are going to get more pain as a result of their 'solutions'.

You were talking about getting a storage container and burying it.
May I suggest that you get 2 or 3, bury then next to each other, and then just put dorways between them.
The prolblem with burying storage containers, is that they weren't made to be buried and moisture tends to cause a lot of rust.
After watching an episode of Myth Busters, I thought of using the roll on bed liner and coating the roof and sides with it.
Setting the containers on a bed of gravel or rocks, should allow enough drainage to eliminate the floors rusting out.

If you plan ahead and have enough time, you can even drill a "hole" and use a chemical toilet. Just throw in a scoop of lye, after every other use or so.

Corten is a special steel, which develops a superhard ferrous oxide coating when exposed to oxidizing conditions.

Furthermore the containers are coated with epoxy, a coating with no known (as yet) failure scenario.

Even a rusty banged up container will outlast anyone here.

The containers were made to withstand the normal rigors of everyday use, when exposed to normal weather conditions; ie: rain, sleet, snow, sunshine, mud, dirt, etc.
They were never intended to be buried under the earth.
