Obama fully supports FISA

On Friday, the Senate passed the FISA Amendments Act, which will allow the government to continue spying on citizens' emails without a warrant for another five years. In addition, it voted down four amendments that would somewhat temper the act.

And according to a leaked White House memo, that's exactly what President Obama wanted.

amazing how silent the dems have become since it is their leader supporting FISA. when bush was president, he was guilty of virtually war crimes for supporting FISA....this country was becoming a dictatorship....but let obama continue FISA

all liberals sing glory hallobama

The key phrase here is to continue to spy on...

Who passed it origionally?

And this republican controlled house passed it?
The Tea Party Caucus and all?

here we have partisanship at its finest. it matters not who CONTINUES to support FISA, it only matters who STARTED it.

that kind of thinking sinks countries. further, the tea party was not in existence when FISA was first passed. please, more intelligence USC.

this is the most intellectually dishonest post of 2012. who demanded indefinite detainment of american citizens in the NDAA? who then signed it after he got his demands? who asked for, and received, stronger enforcement of the patriot act extensions? and you want to place this shit solely on republicans??? you are beyond pathetic.

According to the vote results I have seen only 1 republican in the house voted NO re-up Fisa this time.
Ron Paul no doubt.

From Tinfoils linked article:

Fiscal calamity? Who cares! Congress shows that they can still band together and vote for horrible things.

I think only 23? voted against re-upping it in the Senate.

And of course Bush III will sign it.

Hmmm..I thought I read this somewhere...

.. The law does not apply to Americans. When Americans are targeted for surveillance, the government must get a warrant from a special 11-judge court of U.S. district judges appointed by the Supreme Court.

Looks like we have another case of manufactured outrage...

no surprise howey the dicktator supports FISA

Do you deny this or are you (once again) trolling?

yeah...discussing FISA on a political board is trolling...

go back to your own board whiner

btw...you need to give a cite for your claim howey.

you should really read the full article so you can be more informed howey:

The group seeking more disclosures also sought -- unsuccessfully -- a determination by the government of whether any intelligence agency attempted to use information gained from foreigners to search for information on Americans without a warrant, referred to as "back-door" searches. The prohibition against targeting Americans without a warrant protects Americans wherever they are, in the United States or somewhere else.
