Every time in the past somebody has predicted the doom of republicans they have been wrong, yet they continue to do it based on small battles. Those republicans were all elected by constituencies which expect them to act differently than Obama, caving would be a mistake. It's about time for some republicans to come out and state that they all won elections and they did not run on Obama's agenda.

A situation like this requires compromise, and concessions on both sides, and the vast majority of voters expect that.

If the Republicans want to create a recession by declaring their undying devotion to Norquist & the 1%, best of luck to 'em.

Republicans were just exceedingly lucky that their only recent electoral victory happened to be in a redistricting year. Otherwise, the Democrats would control the House, Senate and White House.

Tell ya what. Outline specific spending cuts Obuttface has made outside of defense. What specific programs has he proposed cutting?
 
Compromise is why we are at this fork in the road. There were times when Republicans were right, there were times when Democrats were right and there were times when both were wrong but thanks to compromise here we are.

Why are you partaking in this discussion if you have no idea whatsoever? It's been pretty well publicized. The Democrats are willing to cut some of their most prioritized programs.

Oh yeah, they said "we are willing to cut", but haven't given any specifics that I have heard of. The proof is in the pudding sugar tits.

We have been down this road before. You libtards like to talk about Reagan raising taxes, but you always leave out that for every dollar raised in taxes, spending was supposed to be cut by $3. Taxes got raised, spending never got cut. Why? Because no Congress can tie the hands of a future Congress. It is settled law.

Bush 41 fell for the same ploy when he famously broke his "Read my lips" pledge. He got burned by the democrats. Somehow Boner thinks Obuttface is negotiating in good faith. He is not. He is trying to defeat the GOP. And the feckless GOP is letting it happen. This is why they lose elections. They stand for nothing right now.

But, if you can highlight SPECIFIC spending cuts with actual dollar amounts proposed by Obama, I will be happy to read them. Point me to a link. Not just ambiguous words. I want actual numbers. Ready? GO!
