Egyptian protesters threw tomatoes and shoes at U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clint

Now, now, Sewerman; it's not my fault that you're full of shit. Take some responsibility here. ;)

I readily admit to being opinionated but I also have other skills that enable me to handle jerks like you about any way I want. I'll take responsibility for that!!!!!

I was wondering why the Egyptian protesters, who were there protesting the Muslim Brotherhood, would go after Hillary.

Now we know.

What has attracted less attention, however, is the extent to which the Egyptians who vented their rage during Mrs. Clinton’s visit appear to have been inspired by fears that the Obama administration harbors a secret, pro-Islamist agenda which originated with American conservatives.

As my colleague Kareem Fahim reported on Sunday, some political opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt claim that the United States even plotted to install the Islamist party’s presidential candidate in office. “Although wildly counterintuitive,” my colleagues David Kirkpatrick and Mayy El Sheikh observed on Saturday, “that conspiracy theory has tapped into the deep popular distrust here of the United States.”

The strength of that belief was on full display on Saturday in Cairo, as hundreds rallied outside Mrs. Clinton’s hotel, waving placards that read: “Stop U.S. funding of the Muslim Brotherhood,” “Clinton is the supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood” and “To Hillary: Hamas will never rule Egypt,” suggesting an even-wider conspiracy, including the Islamists in neighboring Gaza.

Pressed by American reporters to explain where they got the idea that their new Islamist president, Mohamed Morsi, had been foisted on them through a U.S. plot, rather than the will of the majority, several Egyptians cited information gathered from American blogs or news sites.

An Egyptian-American Christian who met Mrs. Clinton on Sunday cited recent claims by Representative Michele Bachmann, a Republican, “that the Obama Administration is pursuing a closeted pro-Muslim agenda,” in a conversation with Time magazine’s correspondent, Abigail Hauslohner.

Rumors that the Obama administration has provided the Muslim Brotherhood with billions of dollars in aid remain an article of faith with many Egyptians who are convinced that Mr. Morsi’s victory was a sham,

Wow...that's real unamerican, huh righties?

Well, that settles it. The shoe-throwing episode single-handedly invalided Bush (albeit showing some pretty legit reflexes), so now Hillary is invalidated. God, politics sucks for some people!!

What does "Monica" mean in Arabic? Perhaps you need to get off your fat ass and research the pertinence of the true anger there and subsequent remarks made here. You just ain't getting it, are you, granny? Mighty thin slice of fruitcake, aren't you?

So you are claiming that what they were yelling was something in Arabic and not a reference to Monica lewinsky??

So what were they saying?

I think the whole thing is hilarious. I remember how the press and the leftists played up the Iraqi journalist throwing a shoe at President Bush. But this..............?

Anyone seen it on PMSNBC? Thank God for the new media

Maybe offering a shoe to someone is a way of offering a blassing, and the journalist simply wanted to offer Bush a blessing? That is as plausible as Gatorman's idea that "Monica" is an arabic word.

I understand that throwing the shoe is considered a major insult in the ME, but how exactly do tomatoes figure into a warm welcome? If they were to come here, I might offer them pizza as a sign of peace, which coincidentally has tomato sauce on it, but these retards just confuse the hell out of me...

:derp:

I would offer them a rack of pork baby backs

Gatorman, I am still hoping you would give us this translation. I have read the story of Hillary's little adventure on numerous sites and no one has suggested that "Monica" means something else in arabic.

Cairo (CNN) -- Egyptian protesters threw tomatoes and shoes at U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's motorcade Sunday and shouted, "Monica, Monica, Monica" as she left the newly reopened U.S. Consulate in Alexandria.

Clinton said she was in the city to answer critics who believe Washington has taken sides in Egyptian politics. There were already vocal protesters at the start of her visit to the consulate, forcing the ceremony to be moved inside.

Tomatoes are good. Our garden tomatoes are beautiful this year and they make excellent sandwiches combined with bacon. Bacon from the butcher. Thick slices and little fat. Toast the bread, spread a little mayonnaise on the slices, add tomato and bacon, a little salt and pepper and......is it lunch time yet? :)

I think this has been established to the satisfaction of all involved that the Egyptians got that word from a Michele Bachmann website. When asked about it they revealed no clue as to what "Monica" meant. My curiosty was well founded, however. Many times foreigners speak words entirely misunderstood and taken the wrong way by Americans and visa versa. I know that for a fact. I've been there and done that. Does that satisfy your inquiring mind?

Yes, I am satisfied. Its obvious you lacked a proper way to explain this away so you went with a wildly absurd excuse.

Thanks for playing.

I will accept that this is your way of telling me that you are a wild-eyed conspiracy theorist. I was correct in my original question as to what exactly was meant to those Arabs yelling "Monica" to the Secretary of State motorcade. As it turns out it's not an arabic word but only a word they learned from a Michele Bachmann website and they understood that it would be insulting to her to hear that utterance. Foreigners, like Americans, are completely unconcerned about the dalliances of foreign leaders and their spouses or staffs. Especially foreigners like the Egyptians. Had they known or cared about the meaning of "Monica" they would more likely been cheering and laughing. What's to be angry about? Idiot.

You tried to make it sound as though "Monica" in arabic meant something else, and that you knew this. The berated the other poster for a lack of education.

Conspiracy theorist? WTH? I called you on your bullshit. No conspiracy necessary.

As I suspected, the utterance by them of "Monica" was foreign and unknown to them and even as they uttered it they had no real understanding or concern for it. They were looking for some way to insult the Secretary of State. Michele Bachman provided what they ignorantly thought might insult her. Hillary is a big girl and she knows more about Bill than any of us ever will. Although the tomatoes and shoes may have surprised her she probably laughed her ass off at "Monica" as well she should. And so should you.

I made no implication whatsoever that I knew what "Monica" might mean to the Egyptians in that post and I did not berate anyone. My question and observation was to suggest a little deeper examination than the original assumption which you and others have failed so miserably in doing. The chants of "Monica" by them made no sense to me. But it is now quite hilarious!!!!!!!!! No bullshit about that!!!!!!

Key point, they were trying to insult her. Why? I thought all of this stuff would end once The One became President. Aren't we supposed to be loved by all now? Isn't that what you claimed.

I do love how you presume that they are stupid and wouldn't know anything about Monica Lewinsky. How elitist of you. I guess in your mind they are uneducated third world dark skinned people who couldn't possibly know things. Thanks for letting your racism shine through
