Raise The Minimum Wage!

Like I say, I think we should seriously consider abolishing the minimum wage. At least then, when they whine and moan, they'll have some good reason for it. If we gotta listen to the incessant whining and moaning, it might as well be over something relevant, that's my thinking. In the meantime, think of all the jobs it would create instantly?

The problem I see with that in the immediate is that until the equal librium is set there would be lots of exploitation. Oh, and we'd have to hear the screams of the Occutards again.

Isn't all capitalism essentially 'exploitation' of some kind? I think that's why liberals cling to socialism and want to destroy capitalism. And we're going to hear them scream no matter what... if we raised minimum wage to $20 an hour, they would be whining that it's not $25 an hour. It's never going to end with them. I say, if we got to listen to them, may as well make it worth it!

Well, you have a good point on that...Ah well, off to work...Have fun today, and I check back Saturday....

So, raising the minimum wage will somehow NOT raise the price of milk? Wow, when did that happen?

exactly... the stupidity of those that constantly chant 'raise the minimum wage' is astounding. All it does is increase labor costs all the way up the chain. Those people working dairy farms will also get raises causing the price of milk to escalate further.

Every single time MW stayed the same, the cost of food and other necessities still went up.

that is because food and necessities are priced based on supply and demand as well. There are other factors that can cause it to go up/down. The rising/falling dollar will also affect commodity prices. By raising the minimum wage, all you are doing is increasing labor costs on all items. Because if you pay the completely unskilled worker more, those with skills will also want to be paid more for the additional skill they bring to the table. It simply raises costs on everything.

they do not hate them so much as they want to keep them in their place and willing to do anything for a job

It is the liberals that want to keep the poor in their place. It is the liberal that wants them stuck on welfare. It is the liberal that doesn't want them to have school choice. It is the liberal that constantly makes excuses for them to remain where they are.

Bullshit. Show where minimum wage workers are involved in "all products".

You really are not the brightest bulb are you?

If you start with:

Unskilled worker: $5
Semi-skilled worker : $7
Skilled worker: $10
College degree: $15

If you then raise the Unskilled worker to $5.50, do you think the others will not also want that 10% bump?

Everybody wants more all the time. Using your logic, when the CEO gets a raise, all other workers will demand raises too, and considering that most businesses employ ZERO minimum wage workers, your argument is particularly weak.

No. I think they are already demanding all that they possibly can.

that is incorrect Dune. They are not going to sit by and watch as those with no skill get a raise while they get nothing. They are going to demand compensation increases as well. It happens every fucking time liberals try to hammer the poor with minimum wage increases. It is yet another way liberals keep the poor in their place.

lmao... you have absolutely no sense of how things work. I agree the CEO's are vastly overpaid vs. their skill set. But if someone with greater skill gets a raise, you are not going to have the same bargaining power as if someone with LESSER skill (or no skill) gets a raise. What is your justification for a raise when someone with greater skill gets one?

SF confused you by presenting too broad a range for your limited mind to compute... let me try this...

Min Wage worker: $5
unskilled worker who is making $5.50 now.

When the "MINIMUM" wage increases, the unskilled worker will expect his pay to increase too.

When his pay increases, the next person up the ladder, who makes $6... expects his pay to increase.

And so on.

You can't apply the logic backwards, from the CEO downward, because the person below the CEO has no expectation his pay should increase.
