Time to once again re-educate idiot libs. The Civil War was NOT about slavery

The south did exactly what the original 13 colonies did - they seceded. America was founded on secession. THINK, white-hating racist.
don't recall giving you permission to address me, insolent ignoramus.

Yes, the Southern insurrection and that of the American colonies of Britain are the same in that both were illegal and were a risky gambit. Here's the problem with your attempt to recover from the prior beatdown I administered on you, the South lost, dumbass. Britain considered it illegal until the exact moment they lost, stupid.
Winners and rainmakers call the shots and write the rules. Don't you forget it. Had the South won, yes, it would have been sovereign with all that flows from that.

Now leave my classroom for 3 days and don't come back.

why in your twisted mind is hatig racism the same as hating white people?

because your a gutter licking racists fuck

lick the gutter racist

everyone hates racists

racists are the most hated people on the planet

everytime you raise your empty heads in history

Your empty heads get shoved back inot the gutter.

fuck you

Wait, you actually think southern white men fighting to maintain a slave economy, is exactly the same and morally equivalent to what the patriots of 1776 were trying to accomplish?

In conclusion, the Civil War was primarily about slavery. Every argument about the Civil War ultimately ends in slavery.

Distinction without a difference in the context of a neoconfederate hate group fake history thread re civil war.

The test here is what side of the op are you on. If you don't shout them down you are by definition a racist

Accuracy is better.

I've already addressed the role of slavery in the civil war previously (the truth is in the middle).

In terms of the issue of secession, there are similarities, the main difference being democracy. In terms of the merits of the parties - what you said, the south was fighting for slavery.

So, in spite of the claims that the South is the most "pro-American" and "patriotic" region of the country, they are actually the most treasonous because many of them, to this day, support succeeding from the United State of America, an/or spend message board careers defending the Confederacy.

How could it be about slavery when

1. There were four UNION states that practiced slavery throughout the war. KY MD MO DE. Had 300,000 slaves total.

2. There were many UNION generals who were slave owners. Even Grant had a slave and his wife had a bunch of them.

3. Lincoln asked slave owner Robert E Lee to be commander of all UNION forces.

The idea that the CW was about freeing the slaves is not only wrong, it is preposterous. It's fake news the media has been feeding us for 150 years.

LOL! Where'd you study history? Pep Boys?

The declarations of secession stated that slavery was the reason, simpleton. They admitted that it was the reason from the get-go.

Please be less stupid.

No - lincoln did not emancipate any slaves. Lincoln stated in the EP that it only applied to the confederacy and since that was a foreign country, there was no way to enforce it. Lincoln could have freed the 300,000 slaves in the 4 Union slave states but he chose not to!!!

Since American victory over the CSA was inevitable, he most certainly did free the Confederacy's slave population.

HAHAHA, What an ignorant thing to say. Lincoln also had no legal authority to suspend habeas corpus ( constitution says only congress can do that), but lincoln did that. Lincoln did all sorts of crazy things like shutting down hundreds of NORTHERN newspapers that opposed the war. He "justified" these things by saying it was war time.

Lincoln was a tyrant. Booth got that right. THINK

Classic deflection away from the subject matter.

The Civil war was about slavery, as Lincoln wanted to end it and the South then decided to secede and stay ignorant. They were schooled but still remain ignorant

Sure, and of course I've done all this crap before also. because idiot troll southern racist neoconfederates always start these revisionist Lincoln bashing threads. I've read McPhereson's Battlecry of Freedom cover to cover. The truth may be in the middle, but the middle is large on facts and the virtue on slavery falls far more closely to the North than the south. North had gotten rid of it 60 years prior.
One degree from due North is still "in the middle."

I actually agree with you here.

SACRAMENTO — It’s been a busy year for Californians who want to secede from the union......... Link: http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/08/17/calexit-again-the-latest-campaign-for-californias-independence-has-some-ideas-for-the-u-s-constitution/

Up to a million former black slaves died of starvation and diseases after the war. The south was virtually destroyed so they were able to fully appreciate their freedom by dying in mortal agony instead.

Truly horrible. The alternative though was even worse.

No the South did just the opposite of what the colonies did. They lost!

You have to wonder how someone can claim to love this country yet support a large segment of it that tried to secede and destroy the Union 150+ years ago, and who is *still* sucking their thumb over it.
