Poopeye, don't you have toilets to clean??????

So Biden, Clinton, Schumer, etc, etc. How fucking stupid are you Guno? Do not bother answering. It is quite apparent.

Exactly hence the John Kerry quote.

BTW, I'm not Guno. ;)

What is it with you two guys anyways? I usually try to stay out of cat fights but you two really have an issue with each other. Care to share any background with me?

I thought that was a Guno quote. Sorry about that Dutch.

I love to bring up the Democratic vote for the war in Iraq whenever they get on their "RWers are war mongers" soapbox.

John Kerry's infamous remark captions the entire Democratic bullshit on Iraq. They voted for it then tried to beat the Republicans over the head for it.

If the decision had been left only to Democrats, we wouldn't have gone to war, because the majority of the Democratic Representatives in the House voted against the resolution.

It takes the consent of both the House and Senate to wage war.

Moreover, I am not responsible for anyone else's opinion but mine. When I registered on this board in 2006, virtually every conservative to a man supported the invasion of Iraq, while virtually every liberal poster to man and woman opposed the Iraq war.

That was actually one of the main debate issues when this board started: conservatives almost universally defending the Iraq War, and liberal posters universally opposed to it.

The Democrats caved out of fear of being "soft on terrorism". All Bush or his people had to do was throw that phrase out and the Democrats dropped to their knees with their mouths open.

Like current Republicans, the Democrats voted to save their jobs, not their integrity.

Neo-cons, yes. Conservatives, not so much**. Military leaders, NFW. US military leadership knew it would be costly in multiple ways for little to no gain.
Result? Tens of thousands of American lives shattered, trillions of taxpayer dollars spent and not a single positive gain for Americans came out of it.

**there's very few conservatives in Congress today. Liz Cheney being one.

23 Democratic senators is not "everybody".

I was on message boards between 2002 and 2005, and the biggest debate, bar none, was the wisdom of invading Iraq.

Conservative posters, virtually to a man, thought invading Iraq was an awesome idea.

Liberal posters virtually to a man and woman, thought invading Iraq was a dumbass idea.

Any attempt to revise history to claim liberals and conservatives were equally gung ho to invade Iraq is contradicted by the lucid memories of anybody over the age of 40.

Most Rightwingers acquired their knowledge of Russia and Russian strategic goals from watching the cult classic Red Dawn.

And where EXACTLY is your link to unbiased, factual proof of this GINORMOUS assumption?

If you provide none - then obviously you just made that sentence up off the top of your head.

Once again - I am neither Dem nor Rep...thank goodness.

The key leadership led the way: "29 (58%) of 50 Democratic senators voted for the resolution. Those voting for the resolution were:
Sens. Baucus (D-MT), Bayh (D-IN), Biden (D-DE), Breaux (D-LA), Cantwell (D-WA), Carnahan (D-MO), Carper (D-DE), Cleland (D-GA), Clinton (D-NY), Daschle (D-SD), Dodd (D-CT), Dorgan (D-ND), Edwards (D-NC), Feinstein (D-CA), Harkin (D-IA), Hollings (D-SC), Johnson (D-SD), Kerry (D-MA), Kohl (D-WI), Landrieu (D-LA), Lieberman (D-CT), Lincoln (D-AR), Miller (D-GA), Nelson (D-FL), Nelson (D-NE), Reid (D-NV), Rockefeller (D-WV), Schumer (D-NY), and Torricelli (D-NJ).
"

I remember the discussion with two former USAF pilots about it. I sided with the JCS, neither of them did but one was an ass about it like your "conservatives" and the other didn't want to go against his friend and became quieter when I laid out the same arguments against the invasion as JCS and other top generals.

Agreed the Democrats weren't "gung ho". I called them chickenshits who tried to save their jobs instead of their integrity. Fucking cowardly politicians.

Fuck them. They knew they didn't have to go so they voted to save their jobs.

I was saying a week ago there would be no full scale invasion, when Rightwingers were wringing their hands and pooping their diapers.

The Ukraine government is corrupt and hardly an ideal democracy. That is precisely why NATO says they do not qualify for alliance membership at this time.

But Ukraine is no worse than some of our other partners, like Saudi Arabia, who Donald Trump absolutely loved.

Wrapping up: we also have an obligation to uphold international law and standards of conduct in the face of Putin's aggression.
Saudi Arabia is not part of NATO. we are free to have individual security agreements that are not formal treaties like NATO is (North American Treaty is foundation for NATO)

And I never ever said Russia was going to invade. I said quite the opposite- although Biden's
"minor incursion" statement gave them the green light to go into Donbas

another reason to give Russia the assurance it needs, in return for Russia guaranteeing the territorial integrity of Uk

Thanks. Understood but why? I see the same racist labels tossed back and forth every day or so but never understood the background. The actual cause of the dispute. Usually people don't just start hating each other without reason. Even if it's a crazy reason.

Example; there's a member here who thinks I insulted his mother and also claims I wanted to shoot Americans in the back. Neither are true and he can never produce evidence of his claims. That's the background. What to do? Mostly I ignore it unless I'm feeling ornery.

Maybe if Texas legalized pot, I'd feel less ornery. LOL

never saw it. No ambition to do so. it looks like the usual Russian hysteria morphed into a movie

ROFLMAO. Figures one of Putin's cocksuckers would downplay the Cold War.

1984 was a big year for Americans in many ways....but I don't expect any Russian cocksuckers to understand those times no matter how much training they've had.

Have no idea, think he's drunk most of the time

He just showed up making whacko claims about me

Had you had a previous conflict with anyone he knows?

While people fly off the handle, when it's a long, sustained and consistent action between two people who, otherwise appear normal, there's always going to be a causal factor...no matter how slight.

It's a curiosity to me. The example pointed out earlier is not the first time I've encountered such actions by other people. Understanding why is often a mystery. It's just in a file labeled "Nutjob"; angry behavior for no discernable reason.

It was. Without their vote it would not have passed. Try again Cypress.
