Here we see the typical English attitude towards the other twenty-five EU countries which are not Germany or France. It isn't the Brits that the EU could do without- it's the Brit TORIES.
If the German government doesn't ultimately call the shots in the EU, who do you think does? The European Parliament, perhaps?
For half a century German politics has been dominated by - in a broad sense - liberals, who have been admirably reluctant to be seen throwing their weight around.
Now the $64,000 question: are you confident it will always be so?
Btw, I have never said that I'm a Brit, and I'm certainly not a TORY.
