The difference for us is that over here the vulnerable get annual flu jabs, which work fine if the medics have guessed right about this year's flu variant, whereas with this new one we just don't know who's most vulnerable, and all they've really come up with is washing your hands and being careful where your sneezes go. In the background is the sort-of-threat to keep all the older people safely locked away, and save the ventilators for those with longer to go. It doesn't cheer one up once the epidemic is moving fast!

Yet, the prospect exists that Trump may end up presiding over the most successful counter-epidemic in history lol.

Vaccine uptake figures say that only 71.9% of OAPs (like yourself) have been vaccinated this flu season, and just 43.6% of registered patients aged 6 moths to 65 have gotten their jabs. The number is lower for pregnant women, at 43.1%.

The media consults only those authorities that confirm the narrative. Any counter authority opinions are marginalized or labeled cranks or conspiracy theorists.

Don is just not living in the real world. Tropical viruses, like yellow fever, ebola, and dengue, do better in the warm. Other viruses, like HIV, do not care about the temperature. The flu does spread in warm countries, though in colder countries it is more likely to spread during the winter.
