I don't support trump having any say in the matter but I do support divesting Fed & Calif funds from all CCP owned enterprises, in China, Viet or where the fuck ever..

Until they follow the same rules as every other company listed they should not be allowed on American exchanges-PERIOD

The board members and chairman are nominated by the president and confirmed by the United States Senate.

The hammers weren't as cheap. A country with cheap or slave labor is going to be able to produce many goods cheaper than a First World nation paying liveable wages.

BTW, Japan, like the US, saw their labor costs go up so they built factories in South Korea. When I was in Korea in the early 80s, the economy was poor and highly regulated so there was a Black Market. That all went away by the 90s when the South Koreans started building South Korean-owned factories using the workers the Japanese trained and gave experience. China is the Korea of the 90s and Japan of the 60s-70s.

American's appetite for cheap goods is why people fear the consumer impact of trade wars with China. No one gives a fuck about the NASDAQ index for the most part (for example).

If we can shift our supply chains, while keeping consumers protected, then you have the makings of a workable strategy.

It has been a big problem in the auto repair business, especially low volume items, for example, pot metal emblems on some classic cars. You order the stuff through a US retailer and they don't tell you were the stuff is made. When the stuff arrives and if it has a China sticker on it, only about 1/2 the time it is satisfactory.
