I actually watched that video. I want my five minutes back. Katie Porter is an illiterate, complete illiterate, on energy and reliable delivery of it to America. She wants what she wants and it doesn't matter how many disasters it takes to get there. It's as if she wants an omelet right now, in the next ten minutes even if you have to break a few dozen eggs to use two.
Unreliable energy, aka wind and solar will never meet US energy demands, now or in the foreseeable future. But she doesn't care. She lumps into her example energy company's spending on non-energy related production of chemicals vital to the economy and our current way of life, as if those can be generated from wind and solar too.
She's a complete idiot. But then again, she went to several major universities and studied liberal arts for years so I can understand fully how she got so stupid.

In the real world, a place that you long ago forsook, even Hydro Power is far more efficient, and cleaner, then the fossil fuels you suck up. Then there is nuclear, geo, and the list goes on.

Hydro can only be built where there is a suitable water supply to run it. Geo-thermal, same thing. Those are limited by geography. The only viable, non-carbon producing energy source we have right now that can supply abundant and reliable power when it is geographically not possible to use something like hydro or thermal is nuclear. Solar and wind are expensive, unreliable, and uneconomical.
The others from your link are absurd
Ocean / tidal is incredibly inefficient and expensive. That's why nobody is doing it.
Biomass is no different from fossil fuel only less efficient.
Hydrogen is only possible with masses of cheap electricity to make the hydrogen to begin with and that requires nuclear.
You stop supporting and voting for the thieves who are laughing at you all the way to the bank.

I am fully supporting The Peoples Party by attending meetings, volunteering time, and grassroot donations. Andrew Yang? NO!!!
I supported the Peace and Freedom Party once. It didn't go very far. It's nice to have a group to belong to. Good Luck.
