The vast majority of those reactors are old and need decommissioning. Latterly four new AP1000 reactors are being built, but you are going to need a shedload more, even then nuclear is non-dispatchable​ whereas CCGT is.

I am reminded of the letter sent to Charles Bolden, the then director of NASA, from 49 ex-scientists, astronauts et al back​ in 2012. As we all know, rocket science and sending men to the Moon is real fucking easy compared to that of a climatologist. Well at least according to Conifer and McAwful anyway. Rocket scientists are far too stupid to understand the complexities of rigged computer models and frigged data. If they did the same then they'd have dead people on their hands.

Just happens my father has a nuclear engineering degree and PhD in physics. He worked for a government DOD Lab for 25 years and had experiments on many NASA flights. He fought the cold war using interferometry to track nuclear events and is an honorary special forces member for his work with them. He also has authored numerous volumes and is well published in atmospheric physics, ionospheric symposia, editor and speaker before the Jasons. etc etc He would not for an instant denigrate the complexity of earth weather systems and study of climate as being simplistic, even as compared to "rocket science." He has crossover expertise related to both, and yet still, far over your paygrade, is not a climate scientist. And that's the sine qua non for any claim to authority. You have no more of that than me or a UPS driver.

You are a poser and fraud. You are out of your pay-grade, as are we all. You are no more valued a voice in this matter than anyone else. Go dig around in the pig mine with all the politically motivated right wing fake scientists whose politics dictate their conclusions, clown.

You already did the whole Bill Nye shit with me. Have you NO MEMORY AT ALL? I said you needn't listen to Bill Nye or Al Gore, nor should anyone else. That said, those guys are entitled to shout their opinions just as you and I may. If they capture an inordinate amount ears, that's the listeners collective fault. Plus, those guys, like me, simply regurgitate the cutting edge state of the art of real expert opinion in climate science, so they are rational in their message, as opposed to you, some right wing Australians and Limbaugh, who spout a heterodoxy.

My prediction is Big Oil are going to pay some massive class action settlements probably prosecuted by nation states in the not so distant future. It will follow the Tobacco liability cases to a T
