I noticed an encouraging indicator.
While the USA is still ramping upwards in the Delta surge at an alarming rate, the world is leveling the curve at a point below the previous peak.
If the USA mirrors that trend, we should see some improvement.
When that will happen is anybody's guess.
We have a significant swath of our population who seem to be determined to help the virus spread.
For now, the virus is raging in the USA, showing no signs of letting up. Yesterday's numbers were so bad it's scary.
While the USA is still ramping upwards in the Delta surge at an alarming rate, the world is leveling the curve at a point below the previous peak.
If the USA mirrors that trend, we should see some improvement.
When that will happen is anybody's guess.

The figure "Deaths/1M pop" is rising daily with each new batch of reported deaths.
People are dying of COVID faster than our population expands.
It is currently at 1,964 Deaths/1M pop.
That's a lot.
If we divide 1,000,000 by 1,964 we get a bit more than 509.
That means 1 out of every 509 Americans has died of Corona.
Those are real numbers.
When the figure reaches 2,000, it will mean 1 out of 500 Americans have died of Corona.
It's getting to the point where you need to ask yourself:
(And this is especially true if you are not vaccinated)
"Do you feel lucky?"
The problem can be readily seen in this graph of Active Cases in the USA:

If we don't turn this around, we are about to surpass our previous peak.

We appear to be possibly approaching a leveling of the curve effect in Daily New Cases:
This graph of new cases is not shooting up as quickly this week as it was in recent weeks.
You probably need to click the image to expand it to see what I'm talking about.
(I'm just looking for something positive here)
If it does continue to level off, it appears it will be below previous levels.
The other curves, Critical and Serious Condition, Active Cases, and Daily Deaths, should follow if the New Cases stops shooting up so fast.
