Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

And you couldn't name one specific thing Trump had done to cause the dramatic increase in vaccinations we've seen since Biden took office.

Except for your suspicion that Dem governors were "trying harder."

Facts. They're awesome.

Indeed, I love them.

The fact is, it’s on Biden to finish the job done under Trump. With ‘finish’ being the key concept.

Not really worth debating. Trump dropped the ball - he showed no leadership on COVID, and Biden inherited a mess.

If you like facts so much, you'd think that you might cite one once in awhile.

Daft Omar 61- having belittled the pandemic warnings from the outset how do you feel about a half-million dead Americans today ?

Do you think that your downplaying may have contributed to this horrifying death-toll ?

It’s not a fact that the numbers are on the downswing?

Your *opinion* on his leadership is just that—an opinion.

So is your idea that the governors "started trying," or that there is any causality between Trump's actions and the downswing. The #'s have gone down since the Knicks started winning, too.

And there wasn't some vast improvement in place already when Biden took office. I'll keep putting the #'s out there: Trump had us at around 1 million vaccinations a week. At that pace, it would have taken 7-8 years to even start considering immunity.

We were averaging over 1 million vaccinations a DAY a week after Biden took office. Currently, we're averaging 1.5 million a day.

I can point to specific actions that Biden took to make that happen. You can't point to anything Trump did before he left office. Mainly, because he didn't do anything.

You'll credit Trump for everything, on every topic. It matters not.

“I don’t think the vaccine is having much of an impact at all on case rates," Tom Frieden said in an interview Sunday on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS.” “It’s what we’re doing right: staying apart, wearing masks, not traveling, not mixing with others indoors.”

__________

You seem sure the case numbers drop has to do with the vaccines.

Hello Darth Omar,

Can’t escape *the fact* Trump is handing COVID off to Biden on the downswing lol.

Given that fact, only logical conclusion is the COVID war was largely won under Trump. It’s up to Biden to finish the job. I wish him luck.

The only thing I recall Trump handing off to Biden is insults.

Trump was responsible for how bad the pandemic got in America. He did not protect us. He tried to pretend it wasn't so bad. He said if it stayed under a 100,000 cases we would be doing well. Well, it didn't, and we did not do well under Trump. Thanks to Trump, we just flipped a half million deaths. We didn't have to have such a high death count.

Hello Darth,

Indeed, I love them.

Biden had to first create a plan for vaccination because Trump had none. That's more than finishing a job. That's beginning and finishing one which was ignored and never begun. All Trump did since the election was tell the Big Lie over and over. He did nothing to solve the pandemic.

I'm sure that the exponentially increased rate of vaccinations has to do w/ the vaccines.

But Biden lucked into a situation where the cases were dropping/getting ready to drop and all that was left for him to do was get the vaccines out lol?

That's your narrative?

You stick w/ it. I'll give you that.

Getting vaccines out is ending COVID. Trump couldn't do it. At the pace we were going, it would take 7-8 years for immunity. 1 million per week.

Within a month, we're at 1.5 million a day, and could be done w/ COVID by summer.

The end.

But as long as you're sticking to it - please list the specifics of actions Trump took to bring cases down, and increase vaccinations. Show some causality.

For starters, this idea that any one person’s actions has led to the decrease is an *assumption* and not a fact. I take that back. The WHO setting PCR testing guidelines such that they stopped over-cycling them had to have an effect. That effect would be a decrease in case numbers since over cycling PCR’s artificially inflates case numbers.

That, is a fact.

And ‘coincidentally’ this occurred after Biden was installed. Go figure.

And for about the 50th time, the COVID response was effectively the Fauci and governors show. Trump did little to interfere with Fauci’s recommendations so Trump’s ‘actions’ amounted to his statements/misstatements on the subject. Obviously, those effects were overwhelmed by Fauci’s and the governor’s actions.

But one action Trump did for a win was Operation Warp Speed. Fauci agrees with me that it was of great benefit.

So, nothing.

I'm sure Trump's supporters will credit him for anything positive that happens under Biden. History won't.

Maybe 61 is composing himself.

It wasn't luck. It was the will of the American voters. First time in 4 years we've had an American president who won the popular vote.

Unlike his predecessor, President Biden has a team of individuals who are valued for their contribution. A team is far more effective and comprehensive than a collection of yes-men afraid to step on the ego of a very insecure self-flatterer who is definitely NOT a 'stable genius.' A team is inherently better than one guesser winging it based on nothing but watching TV and keeping score on who says good things about him or bad.
