Hello ThatOwlWoman,
No, it didn't. I fear that it's going to be even worse, between the holiday traveling and partying, and the new strain that's more contagious. It's here already.
It's shaping up to be a worst case scenario.
We've still got this terrible totally selfish inept president, the Abominable President, and so things are really bad in the first place. The pandemic has been turned into a political football by the greed-a-holic. His followers have been convinced it is OK to ignore the guidelines, causing very irresponsible spread and thousands of additional deaths, and now the virus is everywhere. Many hospitals are already at capacity from the Thanksgiving holiday. And BTW, we never should have 'opened back up' in the fall, and certainly not the schools, because the children, while they feel no effects themselves, have obviously spread it far and wide. And we have the irresponsible president holding huge parties and rallies with no distancing or masks. He turned the White House itself into an epicenter.
And on top of all that, now we are going into the Christmas holiday and unbelievably there are still millions of his followers who think the guidelines are BS and 'they are not afraid.'
Well, of course, they are only thinking of themselves. And their leader has justified such selfishness by setting the ultimate example of it. That's terrible leadership in a pandemic.
So here we are on Christmas Eve, looking at a really bad situation; and everybody knows we have not hit the peak yet. We know that in a few weeks, if what we are seeing now isn't bad enough, it will be worse.
Just terrible.
I hope this seals the deal for a lot of people who maybe were not very well informed when they threw their support behind Trump. This should do it. How can anybody who really believes in goodness support such irresponsibility? It has to be getting more and more difficult to justify that.
That is why I say we should not speak badly of them. They've got to be kicking themselves bad enough. We need to forgive and welcome people back to the collective of caring Americans. It's what we need to do. It is the best that we can give, and the country requires no less than that.
