You do not achieve 'herd immunity' with fewer than 1% of the population contracting the disease.

Assuming the only factor in herd immunity are COVID antibodies.

Why are the vast majority of cases mild even in people with no COVID antibodies?

If the symptoms were instantly tragic we would know where the virus is and is not.

But because so many carriers of this disease are asymptomatic, and we do not have adequate testing, that allows the virus to spread.

If we had widely available instant results free at-home testing, there would be no pandemic.

Instead, we have a mish-mash of lab testing that is not available to everybody who wants a test, and the results can take weeks to come back.

That means people who could be contagious are walking around spreading the disease and they don't even know it.

What we have is the perfect conditions for COVID-19 to spread.

Also consider: the Swedish Health Care System is far superior to the USA. It covers everybody, costs less, and it is more effective. Swedes are healthier than Americans. They live 5 years longer than Americans. Americans are encouraged by capitalism to eat big macs and relax with dessert, without doing enough exercise. We are not a very healthy nation. Perfect stomping ground for COVID-19.
