In fairness, the old way of counting coronavirus deaths in England (the other three countries used different methods) was to count anyone who died of anything if s/he had ever been diagnosed as having corvid19 - so that someone who recovered from it three months ago and was run over by a bus yesterday still counted. They have three ways now, of which the one to go for is that which counts all deaths in which corvid is mentioned in the death certificate. That lot take longer to be tote up.
