To humor snowflakes who can’t follow instructions, if anyone posts a Gish Gallop from now on, I’ll answer the first alleged lie on the list. So let’s go to your
page and see what they have.
Oh my! A brobdingnagian
Gish Gallop! Lefty logic tells us it’s so mountainous it can’t
possibly be wrong! The two Trump haters that wrote it - one a student of math and his trusty sidekick, a graphic designer – must be
real experts on Trump and politics. Gallop your huge gish over and envelope us in its gooey gishness! Gaaaagghhh…
Their link takes us to a page that provides a non-working sound bite, and the statement: ‘In 2002, Donald Trump Said He Supported Invading Iraq. "Are you for invading Iraq?" Howard Stern asked him, and Trump answered, "Yeah, I guess so."’
The useless schmucks couldn’t supply the date of the Stern interview, a sound bite, or a decent quote.
This YouTube provides most of the interview. The relevant part starts at about 1:39. Trump was talking about business and how 9/11 affected the market. Stern took Trump by surprise. The tone in Trump’s voice and his hesitation tells you a lot, when you listen. Here is the correct quote:
Howard Stern: Are you for invading Iraq?
Trump: Yeah, I guess…sooo… um, y’know, I wish it was, I wish the first time it was done correctly.
In comments under the vid, ‘Gaming Palooza Empire’ says, “This recording was captured right after 9/11. Literally everyone supported retaliation without a thought.”
‘Naten Higgers’ replies, “Exactly! Plus, if everyone remembers, if you said anything going the other way, you were immediately labeled a traitor and shunned. You can CLEARLY hear the hesitation in his voice when asked. He was being polite.”
Joel Wayne says, ‘“I guess so...." that's not exactly what I call supporting the Iraq War. Do you really consider that a "yes"? How do you even justify claiming that he supported the war over this sound byte? Is there something I'm missing?? It was definitely a gotcha question. Trump is a business man, do you even realize what starting an argument with Howard Stern over this issue would've done to him back then? Hell, the Dixie Chicks lost their careers. America was thirsty for blood and in a mob-like state. It sounds like in his voice he wants to say a clear "no" but that would open up an entire can of worms. This was before an invasion seemed likely, you HAVE to put this in context of the times. As soon as this started to become a reality that a war actually might happen, Trump opposed invading Iraq, which was completely against the grain of the majority. If anything, you have to give him credit for that. Trump is actually probably the least flip-flopping candidate for President we've seen in decades. Despite how the media want to paint him, he's been pretty consistent with his views since the 80s. Compare this to Hillary who has changed her opinion on gay people and the war pretty drastically, not to mention trade deals and the hundreds of other issues she has changed her mind on. Hillary just goes where the flow takes her.’
Once again, this comes down to nuances and Anglo Saxon communication. Trump says, “Yeah, I guess,” and then a pause, and a long, “…sooo…” which means “Millions are angry so I have to be diplomatic here, but I will put in a clarification,” and then, “…um, y’know, I wish it was, I wish the first time it was done correctly.”
Then we have his
remarks at CIA Headquarters, about National Security & Defense, issued on: January 21, 2017. Trump said about 2350 words, and I will paste about 5% of them (about 125) below. The part in question is in red.
At a certain age, I remember hearing from one of my instructors, “The United States has never lost a war.” And then, after that, it’s like we haven’t won anything. We don’t win anymore. The old expression, “to the victor belong the spoils” — you remember. I always used to say, keep the oil. I wasn’t a fan of Iraq. I didn’t want to go into Iraq. But I will tell you, when we were in, we got out wrong. And I always said, in addition to that, keep the oil. Now, I said it for economic reasons. But if you think about it, Mike, if we kept the oil you probably wouldn’t have ISIS because that’s where they made their money in the first place.
Even this ‘I wasn’t a fan of Iraq’ and ‘I didn’t want to go into Iraq’, is no big deal. Most people who voted to go into Iraq weren’t fans of the idea, and nor did they “want” to go.
Conclusion: It’s a Fake News beat-up. No lie visible. There's diplomacy, politeness, and opinions. No lies.
How many lies have been compiled so far in this thread?
Zero.
Try harder Trump haters. Perhaps you should follow the advice in the OP.
