Six months ago? (I know it feels like al lifetime because of all the crazy since then).

This is the result of years of work in the Green Energy area...and it's good news.

Unfortunately a couple years of Trump policies could undo all of it real quick

At least we have reached the point where Climate Deniers are admitting that reducing human CO2 is a good thing, and continuing to spew ever more CO2 is a bad thing.

When you think about it, that is a major paradigm shift for the Deniers.

I have been on this board long enough, and have followed climate science for ~3 decades, that I have seen science illiterates wade through every conceivable permutation of denial. It wasn't that long ago on this Board that the Deniers were hollering "ClimateGate!" and calling global warming a hoax. And you actually do not even have to go back many years when Deniers were denying that the Earth was warming at all.

The jokes about Al Gore's hypocrisy for flying to conferences in Europe instead of taking a sail boat have pretty fallen off the radar too!

All in all, the signs are there that the Climate Deniers have permanently settled into a rear-guard delay action, a fighting retreat, and you can tell their heart is not even in trying anymore to gin up fictitious stories about international cabals of lying climate scientists intent on perpetrating a hoax.

I would call it progress anyway you slice it, man!

No it is because of Obama's war on coal. It is why most of the south is reducing emissions faster than places like california and New York. 268+ coal powered plants have been shut down since 2010. A new plant that was slated to be built in our area got axed earlier this year because the company did not see that even your cheap natural gas represented a good return on investment in the face of falling costs for solar generation.

So you say, without evidence or logic. But planning for these projects is based on 30 year or longer cycles, and the CEOs of these companies are smart enough to realize that the anti-capitalist policies of The Obama were temporary.

Fracking not only produced natural gas at costs that crushed the competition from coal, it increase the county's reserves by an astonishing amount. Add in the costs and logistics of rail transportation for coal and ash, ash disposal costs, and bulk material handling costs and logistics, the decision to use natural gas over coal was a no-brainer. NONE of these issues were affected by or the result of The Obama's shitty policies. It was capitalism at work pure and simple [pun intended].
