And why do you ASSUME that your armed teacher would have fared better? Would he/she have ventured into the hall for a confrontation, or wait in the room for the shooter to enter?

Yes, the cops royally screwed up, and are being vilified in the media for it. Heads will eventually roll

But like I said to the other gun advocate, I can't accept the 2 deaths to 1 average, or in this case two good guys getting plugged by the cops for every crime stopped by a good guy. Add a gun to the daily, national road rage incidents, bar fights, etc. ... I shudder to think what is to come. Hopefully it won't be as bad as I think. Time will tell.

Also there are so many levels of security to go through at an airport to get to where one could do the “most damage,” but most airports I go through have an armed presence even at the first entrance. They’ve made it tougher.

Most mass shooters choose soft targets.

This guy is being castigated by some for carrying where he was “forbidden.” In OK there are certain sign requirements before the owner gets backing from the law to forbid carrying. The place I see the most of these signs are movie theaters. If they don’t have the proper sign, I carry concealed (the only public carrying I am 100% in favor of) in anyway. If they do have the proper signage I comply but I probably won’t be back to that particular theater.
