Perhaps you're unaware of the footage of Mitt Romney trying desperately to interact with average, regular people. He comes across so uncomfortably, that it's painful to watch.
That's called "out of touch". The fact that his team decided to go to war with Hilary Rosen's comments and to make it about "stay at home moms", is also "out of touch".
Him having an offshore account, in the Caymans (is it?), and a Swiss bank account, is further proof of his being "out of touch". Truth be told...he doesn't care about your poor ass. And if you think that he does, bask in the glow, hear?

A "racist comment" from your point of view, perhaps, but the God's honest truth. Something true cannot be racist. By definition. Are you stupid or what? If you say all black people are underachievers and incapable of competing with white people. That's a racist statement, because it's not true. There are plenty of black people that are smarter than plenty of white people and have great achievement. If you said, black people, as a whole, have "struggled" in America. That's not a racist statement, because it's true.
If you said, all Mexicans eat only Mexican food....that's a racist statement, because it's not true. Do you sort of "get it", now?

This whole thread boggles my mind. Recall when Obama first took office, Michelle was wearing clothes from J. Crew and other moderately-priced shops, and the righties slammed her for that, saying she was too casual and her clothes weren't befitting her position. Then she wears something "designer" and gets slammed for being above herself and out of touch with the average woman. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Being racially aware is not in or of itself "racist". There is a lot of history that you don't seem to understand. I have no clue as to how to solve that dilemma FOR you. Your attitude is what is genuinely "sad and quite pathetic". You appear to have problems with qualified statements. The problem with that is the statement is still on the board and is qualified to the satisfaction of those actually interested in whether or not it is indeed racist. It is NOT racist.
