Whatever. In my opinion, my opinion is not only more valid than yours....it's the only one that merits consideration. Sue me. I basically said the same thing, and it's not worth suing over.I understood where Charlize was coming from, but similarly, she has to take responsibility for her "poor choice of words", given the subject matter, and who she was referring to. Again, hyper-sensitivity because you didn't like the fact that Theron didn't back up Davis' complaint about the bankability of black actors in Hollywood. The key scene in the movie was "Minnie" serving up her sweet potato pie, resplendent with her own feces baked in the dessert. Not only did I "whoop"...Sissy Spacek's character, the victim's own mother "whooped". Didn't see the movie and don't intend to....at my age, I've seen enough movies in this vein, and have plenty of stories from my North Carolinian grandparent's and relatives on this subject. So..."hot shit or "hot as shit" is problematic. You can't tell me what to be hyper-sensitive about. Yeah, I can...because THAT is one fantastic stretch to find an insult. Like I said, one can criticize Theron for NOT getting the point of Davis' complaint (and I would love to see Theron deal with that in a Q&A), but to push it to a subliminal insult that you describe/allude to speaks more of YOUR mindset. Lincoln, unfortunately for you, freed the slaves.
